Thanks for the info! We're not far from Philly I'll pass it on to Chris, but he left for his mission this a.m., so it'll be a week or two until we can do ANYTHING

Safe travels to the Big Guy.
I think if we were going to tradeup, I would like this Rockwood model 8317SS. It would give us extra sleeping space if we wanted to bring friends.
Somewhat like Bonnie's Outback.

HTT are more work. That is why we traded it in on a Dutchmen 30S-DSL. Not having to make the beds each time is a big plus.
Chris & Tina, We are behind you! Trade!! Then you and I can sit back and push the button to open up and sit around and watch all the HTT open up....

1.5 years ago we traded out HTT in for a TT --- yes it was larger and heavier but within our trucks ability. That being said - we have much more storage (nice), the ability to sleep on our way to florida at a truck stop without having to find a campground and we don't miss the set-up/take down of the HTT.
we were very happy with our HTT but we are very much more happy with our choice to go up to a TT.
as for rockwood over wildwood - we had a rockwood - it was good -- and i generally like the finish in rockwood better than wildwood.
good luck!!!

Whoa there, big guy... I respect all campers. We all share a very special bond. Those just starting out with tents are in for a wonderful life treating their kids to the joys of nature. Those who have moved to pop-ups have taken the bug a bit more seriously and KNOW they love the outdoor life. Hybrids are the next logical step for those of us needing a few more creature comforts. That's where I am now. I am at the age where NOT walking to the latrine in the middle of the night is important. But I'm reaching the age where the 45 minutes of setup in the rain is becoming a bit much for me. Of course, the next step is to take all the comforts I've come to expect and enclose it so there IS no making of the beds or setting up the tentage in the rain.
The kids are grown & gone and we don't need a second bunk end. We only need one bedroom for Tina and I. I'm not trading UP, I'm trading IN. Of course, I'd like to think it's the next logical step as I'm getting older. Eventually, we'll all be looking at Class-A motorhomes to retire with (even the young family with the tent). Even less setup, and all the handy things we'd all want when our abilities become limited.
The ONLY thing our TT will have over our HTT is that it only needs leveling and hooking up. The minus-factor is not hearing rain on the canvas anymore. I guarantee you I'll miss it. I'm sure that in time, even leveling and hooking up will become a chore and we'll look into a MOHO that's entirely self-contained.
This is NOT an affront to HTT owners. It's the next step in our camping evolution. If you choose to stay with your HTT, you can rest assured that I will ALWAYS miss the sound of rain on the canvas and the times spent camping with the kids. Consider me jealous.
Cheers!

Thanks for the link. It appears they currently don't have the one I'm looking for in stock, but I'll call them when I get back from Iraq and see if they can order one and take my trade.

Well sorry to say, We also are going to the dark side, Have been watching this unit being designed and built thru are dealer, was interested in the 315ss but ? the bedroom space until are dealer mentioned the 31bss seen pict about a month ago and going to Chicago show next weekend to order one can't wait, We also like the blowup bed in the couch and the atrium slide they offer, (Lot more windows in the table area, and with the new slide still has a large shower. Fit are needs perfect, and think Forestriver is great. Frank
