Check out the RV's at this place. THey are designed very well, with a lower than average hitch weight.

I don't think you will have a combined weight problem, but you need one with a fairly lightweight hitch weight, and these have a light weight hitch.

I guess the first thing to do is go to a scale, then check the empty weight of the truck, compare it to the GVWR.

Belive me, you are not the first 2500 series truck owner asking to tow something very heavy - and most of the time the answer is get a larger truck if you are towing a very heavy trailer.

I think your gonna have nothing but headaches with that lift you have on your truck.
It's hard enuff to get a 5er to ride level with a stock 4x4 suspension.
And I'm sure that lift wasn't designed to perform with that much weight on it.

Could be a little spooky with a 5er of that size, if you can the hitch and axles set up.

you cant tow anything with any less than a medium duty truck. in fact a 3/4 ton may be over limits with 2 people in the cab and a full tank of gas. for the safety of everyone on the road please do no fill your tank up all the way!

Your truck will pull the load but how well will your truck stop and handle cross winds, turns and passing semi's? I have a pac exhaust brake and it REALLY helps here in the mountains. If I had to do it again I would have a mega dually. My Wildcat is about 33' long and 11000lbs loaded with a pin of about 1700. I love my turck and it pulls great getting about 12mpg. It would just be a safty factor going with the duallys for me. That is what makes this forum so great. Lots of ideas.

We have an 03 Dodge CTD 2wd quad cab and we are going from a TT to a 5er. We ordered a Crossroads Cruiser CF32BH. Several people pull this particular model with a 3/4 ton P/U. and have no problems. You can go to Crossroadsrv.com and browse the site.

I guess I am at a loss to what was meant py the picture in Ahava post. I don't see any. Regerding the 2500 I pull the 5er in my signature with a 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 Hemi, 3.73 with not any trouble. I am satisfied to top a hill at 50-55 rather than running the accelerator to top the hill at the 60-63 that the cruise is set at. Good Luck on your choice.

If you select the original poster's profile link you will see his truck. I had a devil of a job getting my 5er to be level with a stock 2500 RAM. With the lift that he has on that truck he will be hard pressed to tow any fiver safely, let alone the one he mentioned. If he wants to keep the lift I would suggest going with a Travel Trailer and a big drop on the hitch!

You can tow anything you want, but will you be within ratings. Not with the trailer you are describing. A 3/4 ton truck will reach it's GVWR well before you reach the trucks GCWR.

Here is an excellent site with a towing calculator:
