Would like to visit Arcadia in April.
Is this a good time to go? Will much of the park be closed? Any suggestions to see and do once we are there?

Acadia in April is good and not so good. First, the Park Loop Road doesn't open until April 14. It is the major road to access large portions of the park. Second, the leaves on the trees aren't really out yet, and it can still be cold, muddy, and even snowy depending on the year. The good news is that it isn't crowded! There are things to do, and the park is officially open, but you will be doing things that are not the "norm" for tourists visiting the park. The later half of April would be better than the first half for sure. Here is the link to the official site. Acadia

Acadia is beautiful WHENEVER you go and I'd spend enough time there to see everything. Drive the loop road, Cadalac Mountain drive and Sand beach. Enjoy the trip / Skip

I'd wait until June for some greenery and have the tourist traps ready to open, we were there just after labor day this past fall and got lucky with the weather GREAT park, bought the travel CD and took the guided tour via our own toad on our own time schedule, highly recommend it. April seems a bit early could easily snow..

I have been there many times. I like to go at the end of the off season, before the rates go up. Everything is up and running except the cost of everything. We like the KOA.

Go when it is warm, that way you can get out of the car and enjoy a view without freezing them off.

I think April is too early. If you could go in September. It is not as crowded and yet everything is open. The weather the first three weeks is pretty nice most of the time. This past year it was good through the first part of October.
If you have a pop up, we like Mount Desert Campground on Somes Sound, near Somesville. You can also check out web site cortbassettphoto.com

It is a gorgeous place but I wouldn't go to Maine in April. I don't even want to go home to NY in April - and we aren't. Wait until it's nicer if you can.
