Are Hydronic Zone Heating systems prone to leaks? Do they
require a special fluid? Does that fluid have a life and require
changing over a specific time period?

No they are not prone to leaking. Some people have experienced a leak, generally the cause was not that of the Hydro Hot, but the plumbing within the coach. Most have no issues.
They require PG boiler type glycol which is expensive, say $30 a gallon or so.
I do not know if boiler glycol has a life span or what it may be.

Vehicle Systems(Aqua Hot) requires Camco boiler ant-freeze, which you can find for 12-15 dollars a gallon.

Ditto, we love ours and will never own another coach without one. We had our serviced and new electric element put in it yesterday, and I ask the question about fluid change/life span, I got a blank stare and uh!

Hi Mountain Aire34,
We have never had a leak. Previous owner had none. This Aqua-Hot is going on eleven years. We have had it the last five years. They require a once yearly fuel nozzle, filter replacement, and check-up. We love the Aqua-Hot. Will always have this type system.

We are currently dry docking in Denver. Two nights ago had a low of 7 degrees. Our Aqua Hot continues to provide very nice coach heat, basement heat, and engine preheat before we fire up to leave. No leaks. This unit is so dependable.

An additional benefit of hydronic heating, is you have full coach heat while traveling without having to run the generator.

Specifications are available at Aqua Hot

We have had two very minor leaks in 10 years and it was a connection fault and a $4 radiator cap that needed replacement.

They changed coolant requirements a few years ago from green anti-freeze to the pink stuff.
