A dealer in our area has seen alot of problems with the Cougars-says the problem lies with what is now being used (construction materials) behind the fiberglass. The Rockwood's look nice-that was our last TT but we had alot of problems with it and the Concertone system they put in there was nothing but trouble! There have also been problems with the bolts shearing off on the slideout-there is a lengthy thread on a Rockwood owners forum about this. I would definitely recommend checking out the Jayco's before you make your decision. Ask the Cougar dealer what materials are behind the fiberglass.

We own the Rockwood 8280SS fiver. We have had it almost three years now and have had only one problem, that was the blower motor on the furnace. We have drug the trailer about 10,000 miles so far. I have added a pressure tank to the water system, an extra return air to the furnace to increase air flow throughout the trailer, and a switch to turn off power to the TV, stereo and surround sound to conserve battery power when boondocking.

Our Rockwood 83144SS is great. We went too Kentucky this past weekend on our maiden voyage to visit my parents and loved the layout! Still would rather have a slide in the bedroom...but all-in-all it's a great layout!

Sorry about not closing this one out, I have a Cougar 294RLS, I like it a lot, having a few minor issues, but the MFR is stepping in to take care of us. I would not recommend my Dealer in Central Texas, (PM me if you would like to know which dealer it is)

We have the Keystone Cougar 294RLS. We replaced the rear chairs with recliners. Love the floorplan.

What recliners (brand) did you get? Are they full size? We are think of doing the same thing in our Rockwood.

It would be hard to beat a Arctic Fox for quality. Look at the 30U for a similar floorplan. They are heavy, but will built.

They are both full size. Both are Lazy Boy. Just 2 different styles. The one on the right above had to be narrower due to the floor being raised on one side.
Lazy Boy Recliner
This is one of them, but I don't remember what the other one was called.
