I just looked up the specs of the Coachman 275RLS and I see the GVWR is 9850lbs. I'm not sure if weight is a problem, but the Rockwood is comparable in it's layout and it is much lighter. This is a photo of the weights of the unit we are buying. According to my dealer, they worked with Rockwood to best represent the actual weights so it should be about what they say in this photo:

2008 Rockwood Signature Series 8314SS
2001 Ford Excursion w/V10 6.8L
Reese WD Hitch w/HPDC

I read it as that 6300 is just for the options thats on the camper from the factory then you add the 3,000 lbs of stuff you can carry and you are up to 9,600 GVWR.

The Rockwoods have a GVWR around 7500-7800#. If you have 3k of stuff, look elsewhere.

We ordered a Rockwood 8314SS with the Cream woodwork & Stainless Steel appliances interior after looking for over a year. We liked the cream wood work as it felt like it opened up the space. It is due in this week. We are getting excited-this is our first TT.

ok, my eyes have been opened. Let me try more specifics to see what you have to comment on. I would like the rear seating area, Fiberglass sides, prefer a ABS front cap and enclosed undercarrage, really looking for a nice 4 season trailer that is fiberglass sided.

you came here looking for a specific answer?

definatly not, actually everyone is really helping me along just fine. I am not new to the RV lifestyle, and we all know how difficult it becomes due to the number of units out there. As a result of this thread, I am actually now considering the Keystone Cougar, the only thing I am not a real fan of or have concern about is the front fiberglass, I had an outback once and the front fiberglass warped and looked like hell, and I dont want to spend 25-30K on another trailer to have it look like poo, after towing it across the US. I am interested in everyones opinion and I can sort it out from there. THANKS ALL and keep it coming!!!!

Good luck

Keystone Cougar 294RLS is what we are looking at now, we like the sealed underbelly and are having to comprimise on the front cap, not really a fan of the front windows in the Flagstaff and Rockwood models.

How are the Cougars manufactured? Vaccume seal or pinch rolled? Anyone?

We got ours (Rockwood 8314SS) and have had it out twice and are convinced we made the correct choice. It is comfortable and is within the weight we needed for TV to handle. Had one minor problem (XM Radio did not work) with it when delivered and it was fixed.
I have completed a couple of mods for our convenience and have a couple to go. Storage room is quite good.
