Okay, all you expects out there
The ABS light came on in our RV.
It is a 2006 Ford E450 chassis with about 4500 miles on it.
We just had a US Gear unified brake system installed, but I
am told that it shouldn't have anything to do with the light
coming on.
Any ideas anyone? I know that there are probably serveral things.
But then I can maybe get some idea of the cost when I take it to
the repair shop. I also need a new chassis battery as the one we
have will not keep a charge.

I'll bet Ford will deny your warranty when they see that modification. Aftermarket mods are the first thing they look for. Any excuse will do, it doesn't even need to be the system in question. Did US Gear put it in writing that it wouldn't void the warranty?

Go to the REAR of the bus.

Actually, have someone stand in back of the motor home

Are the brake lights on?

ABS systems sense many things in your vehicle, they have hall effect sensors that sense wheel rotation, they read the position of the brake light switch

Should the switch fail.. Or should the brake lights fail, the ABS will fail

Should you accidently tear the wires off the wheel sensor.. It will fail (however in this case the light will come on when you start, go off when 20 seconds (or however long) later, then come back on when you start to roll) (Been there, Done that) they sense some other things too. Battery voltage being on the list.

Of course.. Module failure is also posssible

had an ABS sensor wire get melted by an exhaust manifold... caused the light to come on. New sensor wire solved the prob.
