Fat Daddy's in Weslaco

Well I wasn't exactly sober but not unruly by any stretch. Ordered a bottle of wine with our ribs. They brought me a stem glass which I promptly broke by sitting it down too hard. They brought another to which I demonstrated what I did with the first with exactly the same results. I spent the evening drinking wine out of a plastic beer mug.

Now I don't mind paying for my indiscretions. And by the way, if you order a bottle of wine at Fat Daddy's, it's 1.5 Litres not 750 ML. Back on topic. There were 6 of us pigging out on ribs. They decided that I should pay $10.00 for these 2 glasses. I consider that punitive. Right or wrong, I'd consider that the cost of doing business. They are going to loose that in my not returning. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect anyone else to boycott the joint. I'm just PO'd and venting.

They may feel the same way about you coming back in. You got off pretty cheap with just paying $10 for two glasses you broke. They could have had you escorted out by a couple of cops and off to jail for the night. The fine for public intoxication would have been a lot more.

By your own admission, you were already somewhat intoxicated. When people drink and get over the edge they get a distorted perspective of reality. It's quite obvious you were rough, other wise you would have not broken the glasses. Your sense of reality was distorted. It wasn't the glasses fault, nor the restaurant's.

I know way too many people who feel they have to consume alcohol to get loosened up to have fun. Unfortunately, when intoxicated their perspective of fun is not fun for anyone else. They're frightening, scary, and dangerous to themselves and others. There's no fun in that! Remember, there's ALWAYS a price we pay for ALL of our actions. Eventually, it does catch up to us!

I think you got out pretty good for the small price you paid and should be glad they did not charge you more.

I must admitt, this topic is a new twist. Dont quite get it....but vent away. Curious as to why the 5 other people with you didnt feel it necessary to curb your activities...better yet, maybe the eatery should have kept bringing wine glasses to see just how many you could break!
