To general of a question since we would need to know more.
Is the PUP preped for an AC with bracing and electrical?
I had a friend that had a Carrier installed in his pup. Cost him right around $1000.00.
Also, we wouldn't know what the labor rate in your area would be.

Gotcha, thanks for answering.
I don't know much about pop ups since this would be our first
purchase.
I guess I need to ask for more info

Not sure where you are in our fine state but I would guess the price for installation on a 2000 PUP should be in the $600-700 range. IMHO it is worth the cost. When we had our PUP we used the AC fan often and used the cooling during the summer months. In the Valley the spring and fall are usually cool enough to not need AC but if you are on the coast where the humidity is high it's almost mandatory.

I'm in Fredericksburg
We've been out camping in the mountains your way several times LOVE YOGI BEAR CAMPGROUND IN LURAY!!!!!!!!
OK thanks for the heads up on that AC price....that would make it worth it to pay $2500 for it then.....there is another one I'm looking at that is $3700 (has AC already).
I'm really trying to stick to a certain sz camper bec I want it to fit in my garage for now (don't want to pay storage fees)
Thanks fellow VA'er!

Sharon,
You might want to wander over to PUX and search for issues with the roofs on that vintage Fleetwood before you make a decision.

I would agree with the other posts that it should be around $700-$800 total. That's about what it cost to have it added to ours. If you're skilled enough to do it yourself you might save $150-$200. I doubt the labor is much more than that. To me it was well worth it: here in Misery the humidity in the summer can rival that of the Amazon jungle, and I didn't want to be the one cutting a hole in a brand new roof.

Our installation ran around $800 back in 2003.

I hear you. We spent a long weekend at Merimec State Park last summer and you could cut the air with a knife. I felt bad for the tent campers...really makes you appreciate the AC.

I checked out the price of a 13,500 with our dealer here in Arizona..who seems to be fairly knowledgeable...$659 + tax + $150 installation. We have a much smaller unit and worked a "Included" deal on our '07 year-end buy...but the above buy seems to be the norm for a camper as large as yours as.. long as there is a "Vent" already installed to accept the unit. Vent installation is around an additional $150. They said that SOME of these Coleman roofs NEED interior "Support re-enforcing" to avoid further problems. I would certainly think hard before making this a DIY project. The cost of installation might be money well spent! Hope this helps..
Happy Camping!
