Thats a sweet look'n K5 BenK. It is so hard to find any Chevy truck or SUV from 1973, that is not a rust bucket.

The H2 is not a real Hummer.

The real Hummer interior.

The H1 does not fit 6 people. I have 4 kids. The H1 has 2 seats in the front and 2 seats in the back. My H2 has 6 seats. It's about as real as I'm ever gonna get.

There we go, the biggest, bad-a##, gas guzzling SUV carries fewer bodies than my Toyta RAV 4..... seriously comprimised utility. Yeah, I haven't tried towing a 27 ft TT with the Rav :-) Probably would need a Hensley :-)

My wife's SUV has leather, center counsel, power everything, heated seats, 6 disc cd player, etc.

It also has a Dana front axle with locking hubs, Sterling rear axle, Caterpillar fuel system, International/Navistar diesel motor, huge tow mirrors, and a 44 gallon fuel tank.

It doubles as a spare work vehicle for my business and has towed the dump trailer a number of times. Largest load across the scales was 25,020 lbs, try to find another SUV to do that!!!

It's paid for has 184K miles and is still worth something.

Did a mention the 8K lb SUV can get as high as 19 mpg?

I love my gas guzzling SUV. Short of the mileage, it is the perfect vehicle. I can do it all and do it pretty quickly. Awesome safety features, lots of goodies to keep kids quiet and just blatant disrespect to the green-freaks who try to tell me that I shouldn't own one. I have an econo car for mileage, a real truck for towing/hauling. The SUV is what my family uses to do everyday things, I wouldn't sit them in any tin-can unless I absolutely had to. Heck, I think I am just going to go drive it right now and waste some fuel, just for the principle. Jack-Rabbit starts and everything.

Lol, The "real" HMMWV interior looks nothing like that! How does no carpet, and no vinyl floorboards sound? In fact there is a little drain hole so water can escape to the ground.

The H1 is THE REAL Hummer and the H2 is a Tahoe with Hummer costume.

I know a few people with H1's.

One has a 94 notchback (not sure on the year) but it's one of 40 something sold to the general public, though he called it a notch back, it's sort of a half convertible. His other one is a 06 with the Duramax. He told me, "I like the interior a lot, my wife can't hit me when I drive crazy because she's so far away"!!! He drives both of them and has been known to leave Minnesota to Oregon in either one. He uses his DRW Duramax to tow things.

Another guy I know has a late 90's with a 500+ HP 454 V8 under the hood. His other one is also a 06 with the Duramax which has 16 subs and four amps in it with tv's all around, same as the older one. His other rides are a two V12 MB's and a Ferrari. I think he's got the H1's as a status symbol.

Guess when you bring in $78K a month with no job you can afford luxuries like this???

The only H1 with the Duramax is the 06 all the previous years have the 6.5 Detriot diesel, same as the GM 3/4 and 1 tons up until the Duramax. The 6.5 diesel motor isn't really known for it's reputation.
