HMCRV'r if I may say this with out getting you to upset. You have ten post all but four are about Sierra and RVW. Now please tell me and everyone else why did you get so upset at me for telling RV.NET about my old Sierra(Flexing problems)? It was the truth if you need me to give you proof I will. Could it be that the Sierra are the same as the Sandpiper and what does RVW SELLS. Yes SANDPIPER! MMM I think I know why lol. Let's recap ten post the first one is jumping on me for saying the truth about MY OLD Sierra (Sandpiper). Now you are here jumping on me about RVW. Something is NOT RIGHT HERE Now where is the popcorn at? lol
Ray, Ray, Ray! Do you really think that anything you type on here really upsets me in any way? I just like to give an old man what he gives other folks on here.
In reality I think that it's funny to see you find every post that has anything to do with RVW or the Forest River line just so you can be herd by all about how much you hate them or how were wronged by them. It's kind of like the boy who cried wolf syndrome and this way you have a semi captive audience.
No one thinks you are lying about your beloved Sierra and the "Flexing" problem but it would hold a lot more water if more folks would come forward to help with your story that they are ALL bad. One bad grape does not spoil the whole barrel of wine.
Not really sure how you got started into hating RVW and don't really care. And no Ray we don't work for them they just happen to be someone I saved a bunch on my auto insurance. That was a joke!!
I bought my first pop up at a Kentucky RV Dealer and then my Forest River Cherokee lite TT from Roots RV in Shoals Indiana, now my most recent purchase is from RVW, a 5th wheel. I don't like hassles when I buy something or the typical sales tactics and they seem to fit that bill just fine.
Yes, I am buying a Sandpiper/Sierra 5th wheel and it had to do with my past purchase and from what the good folks here have said about them. I would have really taken into consideration what you said about your problem (flexing)if it weren't for the multiple post made about the same thing. It reminds me of that one lone soul out in front of a business with a sign saying how they were wronged, you take a look to see who it is but then you forget about them as you drive down the road until you drive down that same road only to see them again and think "Dang are they still here!"
Once again Ray, you have said nothing to upset me (I'm a Chief in the Navy, nothing upsets us). I just feel it's sad that you are wasting your whole retirement on searching this forum for someone to listen to your complaints.
By the way, real men, if they must drink a light beer drink Samuel Adams light!!!
To the original poster, sorry about hijacking this thread.
-First of all, I nor my spouse are employed by RVW.
-Second we both like Miller Lite!
-Third, I am not a new poster.
-Fourth, many of my posts are about RVW, as we had a good experience and I like to share ways for other people to save money.
Now that is out of the way...
We purchased our 2006 Crossroads Zinger from RVW in 2/06. The whole process was great. Would buy from them again.
Most local dealers...We're not impressed. I stress most, the two that I did like, told me up front they would not meet RVW prices with options we were wanting. Yet, they have had no problems doing the warranty work. Were they aware of RVW, yep! Do they like them, NO; but the way I took it was that there are so many more people that don't know about places like RVW.
When we purchased from RVW, there was no haggling over price...it was a done deal. During the PDI, their people installed the hitch on our truck(great job!) We found some minor issues during the PDI, RVW made it right! Always heard that local dealers would not work on a unit from RVW, this is a big MYTH! Never had an issue getting a local service department to do any work on the unit while under Crossroads warranty.
BIG RAY...I wish I had extra money sitting around, to give it to the local dealers, who want to play the games back and forth with their sales managers. That is a waste of my time and then have to pay several thousand dollars more? No way!
Also, to those that think LAZY DAYS in Florida is a wholesaler...that is not the case. It is a good place to go and look, but that is it, but they must be doing something right as they are always busy.
Bottom line, from our experience, if RVW has the unit you want, they are good to deal with and usually a better price than a local dealer.

HMCRV'r 1st let me start off by saying thank's for your time in the navy I do mean that. Not to be rude when I say this but I have NO way of knowing if you are in the navy or not. If you are THANK'S. Now back to our disagreement.lol If you did your research on here before. All you had to do is a search on Sierra/Sandpiper and you would see that there was another person on here that had the same FLEXING thing going on just like me. And I'm glad that I did not upset you. But I still say that it is not ok for RVW to put AD'S on here. Also I hate to tell you I'm not retire lol. Let's just say we agree to disagree. OK? If you want I'll even bring Samuel Adams light IF Jemc02 bring the popcorn. Now I'm not saying let's give the local dealer all of our money but what I am saying by the time you add gas money and your time from work also toll money I feel it would be better to pay UP TO $2000 MORE at your local dealer and let's not for get If your local dealer is GOOD than you will have a place to take your RV to. F350LEO I AGREE with you. If your local dealer will not work with you then you need to go some where else. I'm not saying that RVW is bad to deal with but I am saying that it is bad to do what they are do on here (AD'S). That's all.
Oh darn, I've been missing an argument. I don't usually like to miss those. FIRST - Sam Adams (when not dieting) Sam Adams Light (when trying to drop a few pounds) SECOND - I was tempted to buy from RVDirect, but bought from Norm at Cold Springs RV in Weare, NH instead. I have only ordered the TT, so I can't comment on their PDI and service, but the sales process has been good. DISCLAIMER - I do not work for RVW, RVDirect, or Cold Springs. I do own my own business... (Link removed by the moderator, sorry, it's in the rules...)

It sounds like the only way we're going to settle this is with a get-together with a few (kegs of) beer, a lot of popcorn and a roaring campfire. I don't even care if we argue (but that would be a plus!).
Maybe our politicians should try that approach. (How long before that sentence gets edited?)

When my grown kids were inspecting our new fifth wheel, one asked why we bought a trailer that sleeps 4. My reply was that we couldn't find one that sleeps 2!
wow what a post,,,, I have never posted a thing about the dealer I bought from that beat rvw & rvd prices and gives me great service, haven't had to use it but I know its there,,, my dealer says he comes on here from time to time and gets a good laugh at the rvw post. says why would a dealer tell his customers to come on here ( there first post or at all ) and say how great there dealer is ???? when they have just picked the unit up or have just ordered it or even to argue with some one about how great there experience was,,, Its just not normal,,,,, or ethical,,,,for them to do it,,,,,
