I'm needing to buy some extension mirrors for my 2001 Ford F150. I was just wondering if someone can direct me concerning what to look for and what to look OUT for.

Thanks!

I have the CIPA Universal Towing Mirror that straps onto your existing mirror. You do have to really crank down on them to get them tight, but once they are tight they work great. Mine don't vibrate at all.

LeBout, I used the Mckesh mirrors in the past. My new truck has integrated tow mirrors so I no longer need them. Check your PM if your interested in buying some.

LeBout, I have the same truck and picked up the Cipa custom fit extention mirrors (Model 11600).. Bought off Amazon.com last year. Love 'em....easy on/off, no vibration and they look nice. They're running just over $50 for the pair Amazon Link

When I had my F150, I used a set of McKesh Mirrors. They were great. I picked my set up off eBay, used them for over a year, then sold them for what I paid for them. Not a bad deal at all. They're a great product.

I guess what I'm looking for is some pros and cons of the different styles. Such as the strap on the mirror units versus the kind that strap on your door. That kind of thing. Thanks for the comments so far!!

Do you really need extension mirrors? We are getting our first TT in a couple months. All I've ever towed is a popup camper and obviously didn't need them for that.

I would also recommend McKesh. The are made well and there is no wind noise to contend with.

I just got myself a set of the CIPA mirrors in the mail yesterday for my '04 F-150 and I love the way that they attach to the main mirrors. I had wondered if I needed them as well but with a TT that is 8' wide, I figured that there is no harm in having them and making things just a little safer. By the way I got mine off EBay for a total of about $26 with shipping..

I've owned 4 different tent trailers over the years and never needed mirror extensions, but with the JAG I definitely do. The trailer is wider than my vehicle.
