I got a nice water container that has wheels and a handle. That way the sink water drains into it and I can use the handle to wheel it to dump. Most of the time we are on private land so we can just dump it, but when in a campground we stick it in the van and take it up to the dump station and dump it out.

A gray water tote is a must. It doesn't take long to fill a holding tank on a pop-up especially if you have a shower. If you get one a little larger than your holding tank, you won't have any problems draining the tank when it is full. The larger ones even hook to your TV hitch so you can pull them to the dump station.

When we had a 1207 we used a 5 gallon orange Home Depot bucket to catch the gray water. We would dump it in what ever area was designated for gray water, sometimes a sink or other drain at the campground. We always checked with the host or ranger to see where it should go.
The outdoor showers are great. We haul our extra firewood in a large Rubbermaid bin. When we get to the camp site we dump the wood near the fire pit and use the bin for outdoor showers. I have the boys stand in the bin, one at a time and they can wash up wearing their swim suits. If we are boondocking and there are not any showers the adults and teenagers ask me to wash their hair. They just sit in a camp chair and lean over the RubberMaid bin while I wash their hair with nice hot water - its kind of like going to an outdoor beauty shop. When we are finished the bin is dumped in the same area as the other gray water.

I thought we would use ours often, rinsing the kids at the lake and such. I think I've run more water through it while winterizing than any other time. Ours is on the opposite side of the PUP from the door so spraying off your feet is pointless. If someone is really a mess we use the inside shower.
I would likely have a different opinion if we didn't have the indoor shower.

I don't have an outside shower, but I bought a large "outhouse" tent from somewhere (Cabelas? Camping World? Amazon?) and we use it for our porta potty. It came with a 5 gallon solar shower and we've used it once, not collecting the water from our rinse off. (I'll have to rethink that...) Most of the time (if possible) we use the camp facilities for showers, but sometimes that's really hard when I'm by myself (usually) and have 3 kids.

The last 4 Jayco's we've had came with outside showers, never even used them once, and even when my kids were growing up, didn't find a use for it! I suppose if a brush fire was licking at your rv it might come in handy!

We have an outside shower and have used it several times. Mainly to bathe our toddler in a small inflatable swimming pool. We don't have an enclosure yet, but it's on my list. I have showered using it in my swimming trunks and standing in the pool. As for disposing of the water, well.....
I would like to find a good way to capture and dump the water properly but haven't yet. I have been considering something like crosbygroups idea but am open to others.

Without getting into the Gray Water debate. And to answer your question. Yes. and Yes. I have had and used an outside shower enclosure for years....LOVE IT!! We have kids and they get dirty!! I have used this to bathe kids in a cheap rubbermaid tub every year since we have owned the camper. I have never had to take my kids into a public shower house and hope that the spray isnt going to make the kids produce screams of horror...dont you love screaming kids...and soapy slippery kids in an enclosed CONCRETE room and your naked and there naked and somebody is out of the spray and cold and yelling..and then to add insult to injury lo and behold the toilets start flushing and that perfect water temperature goes haywire!!! I suggest you buy one and use one and make your wife and child Happy Campers!! And smile and wave at any nosey onlookers. We have a Paha Que and love it for the porta potty and shower use. Cabellas has a really nice one for about $119. It really makes the experience enjoyable when you dont have to leave your site for potty runs and showers. Mom can grab a kid and a towell the soap and never leave the camp site and be done bathing jr. in minutes...
