We have a s/b (up for sale), a MH, a summer home. But you know what I like best? People with a sense of humor, and you all fit the bill perfectly. Thanks for the laughs. Oh, can't get enough, camping that is.

From March through Oct we go once a month with our Good Sam's Club and at least once a month with the grand kids. We are lucky, as when the grand kids are out of school, we can go during the week. Some times leave on Monday and come home of Friday. Just depends.
Our favorite park is only 14 miles from home. by going so close, we save on fuel, so we can go more often and can come home every couple of days to check on the animals.
Less then a month to our first camp out of the year!

There seems to be the problem. If you really really like camping, do like us fulltimers did and dump the high maintenance fixed position boxes and piles of stuff that's keeping you from enjoying life.
Don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind. Unfortunately that's not an option with the DW. She will retire in 2 years. But for me, retirement is a bit farther down the road so I try to plan as many weekend trips as possible.
This has been a hard year on me camping wise. I used 2 weeks of vacation time to go with my wife to see her relatives in England. While I had a good time "across the pond" I lost a lot of quality camping time. I did learn that we have it mighty good over here as the camping situation over there is quite different. Smaller tow vehicles, smaller RV's. smaller campgrounds.

We try very hard to go somewhere every other weekend and then longer trips on the holidays, but after the 3rd week in July, we have football, then wrestling, then baseball and track, so it somewhat puts a damper on the number of trips. We did manage 42 nights last year and have right at 30 already scheduled this year. We hope to hit 50. We are like some others and our yard work suffers. We have talked about downsizing in a couple of years; when the children are all out of the nest, to a small lot; like .25 acre with one of these gonna live in a barn to solve the yard and maintenance issues.

We go once or twice a month but we seldom go on weekends, we go Sunday to Friday morning with my husband driving in to work if he has to. We do camp the occasional weekend when we have made reservations ahead of time. We have a long vacation in the spring and in the fall when we travel but otherwise we go about thirty miles away to a state park.
And I do understand you wife, there are too many things that cannot get done if you camp as often as you want to.. I am forcing my husband to clean his office completely before we leave in a month. It has been put off for three years now.
