We have the Splendide Ariston stacked units and love them. We wash and dry at the same time so the time factor is reduced. The dryer runs on 115 VAC and will dry a normal load in 60 minutes or less.

Agree with Norm. We full time and have the two Whirlpool units. My wife loves them. If you can afford to give up the extra storage space you won't regret it. Were in a 42 footer and it's just the two of us and we have plenty of room, but them Tiffin is famous for building in maxium storage space.

"If you take the items out after the warp overdrive spin cycle and shake out and then dry, the wrinkles are not that bad. Hanging shirts up before completely dry will solve the wrinkle problem. For two people the vented 2100 is all you need."

Like I said, drying sucks. I only dry towels, sock and underwear. Every thing else I take out after the spin cycle, iron, then hang to dry. Or take into the CG wash house to dry only.

Are the stacksble units 110 volts? Sounds like the way to go. The wife and I have been considering the investment. Our unit is wired and plumbed for washer units. (110 volt)

Thanks

The 'main issue' with combo units is the small amount you can 'wash/dry' at one time. Not a big deal if there's a laundry in the RV park. But if you just want to 'get on with getting on' a real water hog and very small loads.

We have had a motorhome since 1978. We just purchased a new '08 Allegro Bus in December, and opted for the separate Whirlpool washer & Dryer. We never had a washer or dryer before, but had heard the complaint aired by "Bald Eagle" from a lot of people. That is why we went with the separate units.

They are 110volt, and we can operate both at the same time. They are a little smaller than what we have at home, but my wife is very pleased with them. They do a great job on the laundry, and we can do it on our schedule.

Good luck,
Richard

We have the single unit Splende 2100S. Other than the fact that it is a little slow, it does a good job. We do take the clothes out between wash and dry and shake the out to help reduce wrinkles. I would prefer the stacked individual units but my present unit does not have the room.

Thanks everyone for your input. There was no mention of service problems so I am assuming that both the combo and separate units are pretty reliable.

Most stackable dryers are 220 but there are some 110 volt units that are 24" wide. Whirlpool makes them, the following compact stackable dryer is 110 volts:

I would recommend you get the seperate W/D. You can run both (at least in our TS). I would also suggest that you demand a Whirlpool or Sears. The only problem with the Combo's is the wrinkle problem.
