List campgrounds that you know that do not charge extra for kids here. I'd like to know which ones that do not charge for each of my kids as I will only stay at those campgrounds. Please list the name of the campground and where it is located.
I know of 2 in Branson, MO (there may be others though):
Ozark Country Campground does not charge for kids under 12.
Indian Point COE campground

Interesting! i don't know that we've ever been charged extra for our kids -- in 11 years. i'll have to watch for this in the future.
Unfortunately, i can't help much, because i don't know the names of most of the places we've been. i can tell you...
We've never been charged extra for kids at any IL state park, policy may have changed, though, we haven't been to one in 2 years.
i don't believe we've ever paid extra for kids at any National Park CG either.

Since when do they charge extra for children? Camping is a family affair, that means children too.

Anyone wanting to come to Kentucky, the Kentucky Horse Park has a nice playground for the younger kids, swimming pool with a 10ft end, basketball and tennis courts, sand volleyball and horseback riding. Plus tours of the Horse park and access to equestrian events. Most of the parks in the Kentucky State park system have swimming pools and planned activities during the summer months and planned activities on the holidays especially Halloween (my favorite). Most state parks that are near lakes offer boat rentals.

Many CG's rates are for a family of 4. If you have more than 2 children, They charge you. Now, I don't know how they came up with 4 to a family but the did. Some cahrge more for children over a certain age. Caues you know 12 year old kids use more CG facilities than 11 yeear olds do.

Georgia and Florida State Parks don't charge extra for kids, they allow 6 persons per site. Georgia COE Parks also don't charge extra for kids.
I get amazed when they say they don't charge for kids under 12, what happens with kids when they turn 13? Our kids are 15 and 12 and I don't think my 15 year old uses more park facilities then my 12 year old.
Most private parks will charge for kids, but we usually try to avoid those parks.

Not long ago, there was a posting here by a new CG owner. He posted his site and asked for opinions about running cg's and things campers like, etc.
His cg charged extra per site for every extra person over 2. Also, on tent sites, by the time you added the extras, tent sites ended up costing more than some rv sites with full hook ups. It was odd.
I think only private CGs charge for extra people. Most government run cg's sites are for up to 6 people, except for some COE sites that allow 8 on one site, or 16 on doubles.
EVERYONE KNOWS 13 year olds flush toilets twice, therefor using more water than 12 year olds....LOL

Knoebels or lake glory campground, in PA does not charge extra. It is even a FREE admission amusement park. You only pay per ride or M-F can get a ride pass. They also have a small water park. If you stay at the campground at Knoebels...it is only electric hook-up. You can fill with water and dump on your way out. It is nice...but stay in the klondike area. Lake glory is down the road and offers full hook-up and a free shuttle to the park. (You can just drive and park on your own). There is a nice road stand that you can buy corn and other stuff needed. Great Family place!!!

Wow, I can't belive you (and the other poster) were unaware that a lot of campgrounds charge extra for kids. My experience is that a lot of privately owned campgrounds charge one fee for 2 adults and an extra fee (per night) for each child. I will not stay at a campground that charges extra for kids. I'm hoping I can cut back on my search by asking here.

I think the only parks that charge more for children are the privately owned RV parks. I think that you have to indicate the state or states that you want to stay in if you want information about a specific area or kind of park.
Here in Michigan we had six children staying with us and had no extra charge at our state park.
National parks and forests do not charge extra either and I would guess that county parks are the same.
