What phones are available that have external antenna connections? Does Verizon have any?
What phones are best for using Smooth Talker when boon docking?

The easiest way to figure out what phones take an external antenna adapter is to check out a site like this: Link
Smoothtalker should use these type of adapters to connect to the antenna. We basically put together a Smoothtalker-like package out of Wilson parts.

I have a Motorola using Verizon service plugged into an amp with an outside antenna right next to me as I sit in the MH looking out the windows enjoying a great rain storm in Sunny California. I can't get to the model number right now but you just need to tell them this is what you need.

Some of VZNs phones have the option of connecting an external antenna, some do not. When you get the new one have them show you where the antenna connects, otherwise you could get stuck with the wrong phone. Ask to talk to a tech if needed, some of the sales people are not that familiar with the phones.
The VZN web site has a lot of information.

On a similar line there are some amplifiers that operate just by being up against the phone and do not need a physical antenna connection to the phone.

I've got a set-up in my work truck that is a hands free system with a booster that works off bluetooth.
