Hello! Just made our reservations. The lady told me that for us to be grouped together we should call the PARK and let them know we will be a rally so MAYBE they can try to put us together. She also said there are no longer reservations for waterfront sites, it's like GRGC said: 1st come- 1st served.
As of 2/28/08 6:30pm there are now 49 sites left.
The reservation number is: 800-864-7275. That is NOT the park number.
We're scheduled for Friday/Saturday as you have to stay 2 nights. She took the $50 over the phone.
**Note from the state park website: Disabled Veterans
Disabled veterans who are Georgia residents and present a Certificate of Eligibility from their Veterans Benefits Coordinator are entitled to a 25% discount on Annual ParkPasses, lodge rooms, campsites, cottages, mini-golf, golf fees, swimming pools and historic site admission.

Well here we are again I just made our reservation for the spring Rally, we will be there on Friday and ready for the breakfast on Sat and Sunday, I will try to get a bigger pan to be able to make more than one pancake at the time. The park has a group shelter close to the premium sites are we getting the option to use the shelter?.
See ya

It's going to be about a 200 mile trip for us, and at worst 10 mpg equates to 20 gallons each way, at $3.50 for diesel is about $140 round trip. Certainly not a deal breaker. Living in Atlanta would only save us about 50 miles each way, about 10 gallons total ($35). I think an extra $35 for the trip is money well spent, especially coming in on a Thursday. We had such a good time, we'll try to attend every rally, wherever in the state it is. I wouldn't make the trip for one night, maybe for 2 nights, definitely for 3 nights. Just my opinion.
Depending on when you leave, getting around Atlanta can be horrible. We live just south of Atlanta and heading north to the lakes or mountains is almost always an adventure.

Just made our reservations for the rally. We plan to stay Friday through Monday. I have a prior work commitment on Thursday. Might try to come down early if possible, but Friday for sure.
Is it May yet? It seems like a long time since we had our last rally. It is a good thing that we have a couple of trips scheduled between now and then.

We just got back from AH Stephens yesterday and it was a beautiful weekend. I celebrated my birthday at AH Stephens last year and had a great time.
