Are any of you familiar with Americana 5ers (Forest River Direct Factory Order)? I'm planning to go FT and I'm struggling between a high end and mid end. I want a trailer to last but I don't want to pay too much. The Americana seems to have a lot of high end features but lighter and less expensive. I'm concerned about durability of a mid-weight trailer but perhaps the air suspension is good enough to take the wear out of the road travel. Any thoughts?

When my grown kids were inspecting our new fifth wheel, one asked why we bought a trailer that sleeps 4. My reply was that we couldn't find one that sleeps 2!

I do like my Americana but wouldn't buy one again. Servicing (and payment thereof) is lackluster and absent at best. The trailer does indeed have some bells and whistles that other trailers don't but while they are working that's fine, but when (not if) they break it's painful.

I have a 2003 and would buy again. Price, construction, upgrades and options all fit the bill. I did have 2 minor problems. Any cardinal dealer can fix the unit. It is after all a built up Cardinal. Mine even says cardinal on it. I did like the way Direct RV Sales does business.
