We have a fellow here who owned 2 trucks of different years but the same make and the keys were interchangeable. His wife found out by accident when she locked the keys one of them one night and had the set to the other in her purse.

Skip, the main key I was referring to is the main trailer door not the storage compartment. Maybe when I opened the trailer door next to mines the deadbolt probably was open at the time. I did not pay close attention. I am planning a trip to the dealer this weekend to find out more about this. I e-mail the dealer but no response yet. So far I have had no incident with redards to theft or missing anything at a campsite. I had to put up with more rowdy drunks than anything else but it never hurt to be vigilant.

Had an 04 Starcraft Aruba that had different locks on the three trailer doors plus one for storage compartments. I didn't like having to carry four keys, so I found a guy on ebay and asked if he could provide three door locks that were keyed the same. His reply was, just give him a key number and he would send three locks keyed to that number. The locks I received were standard RV door locks with deadbolt and they all worked with the same key.

While I was waiting for the locks to arrive, I visited a couple RV dealers, and checked their parts department (wanted to see if I got a good price) for replacement locks. Between two dealers (neither was a Starcraft dealer), I found three more locks with that key number.

Those locks only keep honest people out of your RV.

Check youe storage compartment door key. If it is marked 751 it will open a lot of other trailer and motorhome storage compartments. And that will be with many other brands.

It will also open commercial irrigation controllers.. same thing only 3-4 different locks

Because of the key issue that has been discussed in the past, I changed the locks on my storage compartments to these "combicam locks". They work great.

I'm adding a second lock to our Pack n' Play door for just this reason.

That's the key. . . if you look around most campsites there are goodies just sitting all over. They are left out in the beds of trucks, on the picnic tables, leaning against the TT, under the tongue, etc.

I've never had a problem, though. I know it could happen - and I know some of you probably have stories, but I bet it's less likely at a campground than it is at your brick house.

Campers tend to be good people. That's one of the reasons we like it.

When we picked up our TT the dealer told us that the outside storage compartments all had the same key for all trailers.
