Okay, I am new to this forum and have a question about what type of bike rack that I should get for the trailer. I have seen where some people have said they bought toppoprail and were happy with them. question is can I buy it from someone in the US or do I have to get it from Cananda?
The other one I was looking at was the Acar 2-Bike Bumper Mounted Bike Rack the link and describtion below
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/bike-carriers/acar-bike-carriers.htm

(These bike carriers are made from heavy-duty, black powder-coated tubular materials. Heavy-duty support brackets for installing the bike carriers on standard 4" to 4 1/2" square travel trailer, 5th wheel, and RV bumpers are included. It is an ideal bike carrier for any motor home or RV with a standard square bumper and no need to clear a rear spare tire.)

What do you guys think????
Thanks

one thing I would like to mention. The four in square back bumper on most TT and 5er's are not all that strong. if you put a load on them and drive down the road, they will wiggle a lot and sooner or later they will break at the frame joints. When I hauled mine I went to a welding shop and had a brace installed from the bottom frame to the bumper and I drove all over the place with that in place. Even on mountain roads with out losing a bike or the bumper.

b4 you put anything on your bumper i'd check with the TT mfg.
i also have been looking for a realistic priced way to haul 3 bikes and guess i'll keep to hauling em on the inside of the TT.
the tongue mounted setup looks good but the price is nuts(i'm a fitter/welder and know there isn't that much in materials/labor involved)
the roof mount type would work on my bed lid but they assume you alrady have a luggage rack installed-plus it's kinda high and hard to get to.
luckily we don't always take the bikes so on the bed they will go until i find something reasonably priced that will work

I know it's a little pricey, but I have the 2 bike toppoprails carrier and love it. It's a very solid product. I personally do not like putting the bikes on the rear of the tt because I don't want more weight back there and I can't see if there is a problem with bikes coming loose.

If you ask me all of the bike carriers I have looked at are very over priced. The 2 bike toppoprails here in Ontario is around $500

I went with a Thule roof top system on my Suburban. My tt is at a storage lot so I needed a solution without moving the bikes from the truck to the tt. It's one system weather I'm towing or not and suites me perfectly. I've seen them on quad cab pick ups before, but it's rare. I was afraid to put anything on my tt bumper and inside was not an option for me personally.

You'll get alot of advise and solutions on this forum. Read them all and decide what works best for your situation. Good luck.

Thanks sMohrs, when we went out west last year we left the bike at home. Now we want to take them along. The roof system was another option for me.
thanks

Here's a link to a homemade bike rack I installed on the a-frame of our TT:

It has worked very well for us.
