We bought from RV Direct and we were quite happy with them.
To answer your question...much like a car, warranty work can be done by any authorized dealer not just the place you bought your RV from. I know many here have said that some dealers will not do warranty work unless you buy your RV from them. I simply can say that is not the case whatsoever here in the Northeast. As a matter of fact all of my local rv dealers welcome the warranty work with open arms, particularly in the winter / off season!! I actually asked a two local area dealers if they would do warranty repair work on my RV when needed, They both said the same thing..."Why not?? We get paid to do the warranty repair so why would we turn it down??" Yes they have a guideline they must follow for hourly billing of warranty repair work, but most reputable places beat the time line alloted and are quite happy with the payment.
Go with RV Direct, you won't beat their price or service and warranty repair by others is really a non issue.
Quote: Just a reminder - if nobody buys local there will not be a dealer to service you
A good dealer local is few and far between any way. Why would anyone pay an extra 20-30k for the privilege of having a dealer local. No thanks, give me the 20-30k in my pocket and I'll drive for my service.
Also people have paid that 20-30k premium to then learn the local dealer is a jerk and inept when it comes to service.
My motto - buy by price period, with what you save you can buy good service.
