Back to the original post.... "Statistics showing why gas price is not a big deal". Where did this infinite wisdom come from?? It is being refuted by every single economist. I guess the housing problem is not a big deal either?
Nothing is a big deal until it becomes a problem for you. That is called burying ones head in the sand by the way.

Sure didn't take long for everyone to get their panties in a bunch did it? Like what was posted before, it is what it is so you better learn to live with it or be miserable the rest of your life!!! It's to short so enjoy it while you still can. One day you'll look back and think "Why didn't I do so and so when I still could"?

Peace and love and enjoy life!!!

It is the ho hum attitude that bothers me. In So CA gas is at $3.69 a gallon, diesel is $4.00 a gallon. The oil companies, who now have a monopoly and are raking in huge profits. The Enviros make it impossible to build more refineries or explore for oil. Our Government would rather investigate steroids in baseball than face up to the issue. Most of us can handle the price of fuel, but there are a lot of other folks out there that are having a very difficult time with it. As others have pointed out it is not just fuel, it is thousands of products, that increase our daily living expense. It is a serious issue and we cannot be complacent about it.

Thank you, and well said. We could use more folks like yourself in the world. Even some people that were defending 2.50 gas, are now expressing their discontent with $4, and those that are defending $4 will have their day of "awakening" as well. First they got to get the sand out of their ears.

What is ridiculous is a person purchasing a RV thinking that gas prices are a fixed cost, and then complaining about it when prices go up. About as naive as the person that is surprised when their adjustable rate mortgage goes up.....

Good point, it is a serious issue, but......what are you, personally, going to do about it? Folks are complacent about it and have a "ho hum" attitude because in reality there isn't much we CAN do about it, other than complain.

Most of us on here discussing fuel prices agree, but the concern here is the effect on the entire RV industry as a whole, day to day living cost, and the impact on our entire country. Alot of nice folks on this site realize that although this is an RV site, we are all being effected by fuel prices very hard in ways other than standing in front of the fuel pump.

Exactly! If the demand for oil remains undiminished, there will be no incentive to lower prices. Most of us can well afford to pay more, but is it responsible to do so? If we curtail our usage where we can by buying more fuel-efficient vehicles (including RVs) and parking more, driving less, we will have done our part--however small--to help alleviate the cost as well as the limited supply. And, I might add, it might be a good time to lower speed limits!
OK--I'll go put on my asbestos suit (although made from a hazardous material), now.

When I was a whole lot younger a wise man told me..........if you have to think about the cost of fuel you really can't afford to have a boat or an RV........

That's hardly the point! Some of you guys, like Nero, will be fiddling while Rome burns. Have you no sense of responsibility?

Can anyone say "tunnel vision"
What about $10/gallon, how much is too much? Everyone has a limit.
