Can someone put it out on the table a "how to" for doing this through the use of the plug that normally goes into the TV?? I only ask because I think that it would be a good way to check your bulbs from time to time. Thanks

I had mine on once but then decided what's the point. I don't mind them, it actually looks neat on some rigs. Flashing rigs in the desert is fine, but I'd rather not see them in the campground, same thing with the scare lights I guess

TWhaylen,
If your TV is wired the same as mine (and it should be), as you are looking into the plug that is attached to your camper, hold it so that the locking tab (that the rcvr lid locks onto) is at 12 noon. If you insert a wire into the the hole directly at the top center... and then the other end of that wire into the hole that is next to that hole in a clockwise manner... BINGO... your lights should light up.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the help. Can you use any gauge of wire or does it have to be a specific type of wire? I assume when you are talking about that "locking tab" you are pointing towards that little area of the plug that is molded out so that it isn't a perfect circle?? Do you just pull the wire back out to turn it off? Thanks

I used some 1" long pieces of some 3-12 Romex I had laying around the garage. It works good since its a solid wire... easier to push in the plug. But I've known people to use anything. You shouldn't have to worry about overloading it... people use a 5amp fuse... just about any wire will work.
Correct on the tab thingy... didn't know how to describe it. LOL!!
And lastly... yes. Just push the wire in = LIGHTS ON. Just pull the wire out = LIGHTS OUT.
Hence the reason why I've only used little pieces of scrap wire...
I inevitably lose the wires. Long evening... plenty of cold beverage... bed time rolls around... put out the campfire... finish the last beverage of the evening... pull out the little wire for the running lights...
Next morning... can't find the little wire.
On REAL BAD mornings... can't find my pants either... but that is a story for another day...
Enjoy!!

Thanks for the help Jeff!! I assume then that the lights end up running off your TT battery? does this pull a lot of power from the battery or is it so slim that it shouldn't even cross my mind when they are on?

Yes, they're running off of the battery... but since you're connected to shore power - you're also charging the battery - so it's a wash. In my case, once MOD I did was switch all my running lights and tail lights to LEDs so the power draw is even further negated.
Like I say... myself and our camping group have done this for years with no issue.
If you weren't hooked up to shore power... then I would think it becomes a consideration.
If you're hooked up to shore power... run 'em... emjoy 'em... and crack open another beverage!! LOL!!
