Got to be low salt, low fat (i.e., lean or no red meat, butter, and what seems to be all the other things that taste good), low white stuff (refined sugars and grains) and low cholesterol.
Gawd I have H/colestrol and BP but am on those pills that help reduce it, sounds like a lot of fish, pork, less the fat, chiken less the skin. vegies in staming bags for the MW, mrs dash seasioning.
Good luck I just cut down on my intake of those bad foods we love so much.

One of the best cookbooks I've seen has been the ADA cookbook - as it helps with portion control, no salt, lean meats. Have a book of my aunt's sitting in front of me "Living Without Salt" which too has great recipes and uses alternative seasonings!
