We are looking to purchase of accessories for our Roo 233 and wanted some opinions on tie downs and deflappers. We were looking at these toe downs.
Awning Tie Downs
and these deflappers
Deflappers
Are either of them worth buying and or needed? Thanks for the input.

Our last Jayco had a Carefree awning with built in awning deflappers, only used tham about 6 times in 2 years. Never had to use tie downs, we just would retract the awning is the wind came up! Our newest Jayco we had to buy awning deflappers, like the ones you looked at, and only used them once is 3 years. We almost always srow the awning when we're not there, so never lost one due to high winds or rain!

I have and use both when every we are out. I did change the rope to rachet straps.
It only take a minute to put the on and then I don't have to worry if a quick storm blows up.

Tie downs Wal Mart $9.99. You really want the deflappers that are wider, like the chip bag closer thing-a-ma-call-its......JMO

Campinmi what deflappers do you recommend? I was liking the tie downs because they attach to your awning roller and they pull down/out on the roller to keep your awning taught and rolled out.

I use the same deflappers and find they work well. I do 3 on each side. I use a slightly different tie down setup, though I don't see it for sale anywhere now. Mine has springs on the end that hold a 2 inch wide strap that goes up and over the awning tube. The springs are held to the ground by those screw in stake things. Cheap insurance in case something pops up while we're not around

We us those (from Camping World) but use our own ratchet straps instead of the ones provided. Much easier

I have used the Camco deflappers as per your link on the awning of our 233 Roo for the last 3 years and have found they do a good job.
