For those who have the Firestone Ride-Rite air bags (part #2400), have you had any trouble with the brackets bending? I am interested in purchasing some air bags for my 2005 Ford F350 CC SB SRW and I checking into the Firestones, but a competitor to Firestone said there have been problems with this model and the brackets bending under load. I just wondered if this competitor is just trying to sell me his product, or if there really is a problem with the brackets bending? If there is a problem, has Firestone fixed it? Firestone has a good name and reputation, so I just needed some help from those of you who have had experience with the Firestone air bags (part #2400) and see it there is a potential problem, and if so, has it been fixed and do I need to be concerned about it. Thank you in advance for your help!
My Firestone's are part number 2071F but they are the same design and they have not bent or had any other problems since installed in 1997. The 2400 may have a larger span on the mount to clear fifth wheel hitches? What brand is the competitor pushing and what is different about them?

The competitor is Pac Brake and they mount spring to frame (I think that is what he said). He was calling a dealer to see how the installation went on a truck just like mine, but I have not heard from him yet. As soon as I do, I will ask again, how are his air bags different. If he does not call back soon, I will be calling him. Then I can let you know how they are different. Thanks for your response.
I have that model on my 2007 Ford F350 and after a years use have had no issues whatsoever. I did read a lengthy thread here a ways back about someone's brackets bending. The bracket in question is the brace that supports the bag on the axle tube. I check mine when I'm adjusting the Rancho shocks. From my perspective, if I develop an issue in the future, it's easy to reinforce what's there. or make a better one. Not everyone is set up to cut and weld metal, however.
I can see where either overloading or imperfect assembly would lend itself to bending the bracket.
