I've heard you have to spend alot of time waxing your slides to keep them from sun damage and cracking in the summer? If so..how many times do you have to wax them?
Camping with kids makes life interesting.

The only thing I do is lube the seals so they don't dry out & crack.

Slides are easy to maintain because there is no maintenance to them, other than lubing the seals which takes all of 5 minutes. we had our first slide which was a step slide? (not flush floor) it was nice and gave some extra room. I think it was around 18"? deep. now our new one has a flush floor slide and is 24"? deep. just that small amount gives you much more room inside. our new one also has the sky lights in the slide and the large dinette window. BTW both of them were super slides (sofa and dinette).

I guess it depends on what you are getting and how often you use it. One major thing to also consider is, how functional is the RV with the slide(s) closed. In some models it's almost impossible to move around with the slides(s) closed. I don't have them and do not missed them. But I only do weekends and two weeks at a time. When I retire, I plan to get a class A with slides, since I would be gone for months at a time and need the extra space, but for now my TT without slides is just fine.

I'm serious, Isn't the answer obvious? The greatest 2 things that happened to RVing,....diesel pusher configuration, and then slideouts.
I owned/used five(5) non-slide motorhomes prior to this one. The difference in livability (convenience/comfort) is HUGE. I'll probably quit altogether BEFORE I give up slides.
Take a good look, imagine....:
