I am looking for a Travel Satellite Tripod and went online to camping world. The reviews are mixed about this product.

Q> Does anyone have the Winegard Antenna Tripod and happy with it or it’s a piece of junk.

Thanks in Advance!

I have one and found it very lightweight for holding the dish in wind. I hang a full water jug from the center and that helps. I also drilled thru the legs so to stake it to the ground. If I had my choice to do over I would go with their larger tripod. Much more stable and easier to level.

I've been using the shorter Winegard tripod for years now without any problems. (There are two models.) I do use a 10# "mushroom" boat weight to keep it stable. There are a lot of other mounts out there on the market. You can even make a low-profile one out of PVC.

Bullseye ... not a tripod, but perhaps, IMO, the best mount on the market for various reasons.

I am sorry I can't tell you at this time what brand mine is but I googled satellite tripod and found one like the Winegard that came with compass and also a bubble level and was degreed. It has a spring in the center that hooks to a dog type screw into the ground for holding power. Was around $40+ Good luck

I had the tripod you are looking at once and really wasn't impressed with it.

Here is the one I built:

It was made from an old transit tripod. I mounted chunk of chain link line post on top of it. What's great about it is it is really easy to level on most any terrain.

Or if you don't want to mess with building it here is one already built: H&G Tripod

The cheapest and the best, IMHO. Very low wind resistance. Won't blow over!

I used a short Winegard tripod for years. Used it many times with my previous Popup camper, than for over a year when I lived full time in a Class A.

Wind never budged it, but had a kid run into it now and then. No big deal to repoint it. I did use the ground anchor and bungie to hold it FIRMLY in position.

Folded up nicely. Lasted for more than a decade. It went with the Class A as a package deal. If I get another satellite system, this would be my first choice again. Very easy to store, short profile makes it sturdy.

I've been using the following for the last 10+ years and it costs under $5, is almost rust proof, easily leveled (with pebbles or sticks under the cinder block), very stable and quite compact. I bought one of the tripods and never have used it.
