Some good ATV'ing in NW Arkansas at the Mill Creek OHV area. Forest Service managed and several good camping locations, but none with amenities. You're on your genny out there. Trails are numerous and range from easy to very difficult. We go out there regularly and the entire family has a blast.

If you are heading up through Missouri on your way home, check out the St. Joe State Park ORV area just south of St. Louis. There are 2000 acres of sand flats with some technical hill trail riding as a benefit. The campgrounds are immaculate and the riding is good. Good luck!

There are some good riding areas in central Louisiana around the Alexandria area off I-49. The best is the national forest in Forest Hill, LA. They have a real nice campground with good level sites. There is no W/E/S on these sites. About 75 miles of trail available from this trail head. Another good area is in the Fort Polk area. I am not sure of the camping facilities as I have not been to this area recently.
In AR, I second Wolf Pen Gap and Mill Creek. Also, North of Russelville, AR ~20 miles is Mocassin Gap riding area. Lots of trails from easy to challenging, streams, water falls.. a beautiful area.

Trails split up into 4 district areas. You can view the districts on the website. $5 per day, per OHV. Camping is $7/nite at the Loran campground in the Claiborne area. Campground is new and very nice, but as the other poster said , no E/W/S. All other areas are primtive open camping. Claiborne just hosted round 3 of the National Enduro Championship, so you can find some nice single track only here as well as atv trails. The Kisatchie has just undergone some major changes regarding OHV, trail only use and other changes. The Sandstone trail ( closed til April) has some parts that will make you think you're in the Ozarks, but is pretty sandy and sees a lot of ATV use. There is a trail condition hotline 1-866-830-6467.

This is a large open area between the Mississippi river and Lake Ponchartrain that is open to all manner of OHVs. Right off highway 61, south of Laplace, just North of New Orleans. It is Corps of Engineers property and the trail system is nicely maintained by the local trail club. Not much exciting about it, but nice open space. Can be very dusty when dry, (river silt ) and you can always find as much mud as you can stand. Lots of snorkling here.
Mississippi Riding Area
The only areas I have ridden are on the DeSoto national forest. This area took a pounding from Katrina and is still trying to recover. Rattlesnake, near Wiggins has yet to reopen, but is being worked. An area South of there, just North of Gulfport called Bethel is partially open and actually has a new area for single track only. All off of US Hwy 49. Call 601-528-6160 for details and trail conditions. Have not been lately, but I think they have begun charging $5/OHV/Day.
That's about about the only areas I have ridden, but have have enjoyed them all. Have a safe trip and enjoy.

I give Wolf Pen a vote too. As well as Mill Creek, but not hookups.
At Wolf Pen you can get full hookups and ride your ATV straight to the trails. Good folks, clean campground, and they don't put up with people causing trouble. I take my family there at least four times a year.
I haven't ridden the Mocassin Gap area, but would like to soon. In Hot Springs there is the Superlift park, www.orvpark.com , but it's a little more challenging.
IN THE FORT SMITH ARKANSAS AREA AROUND THE LOCK & DAMS THERE IS SOME SAND & SOME TRAILS. OF COURSE I HAVE NOT BEEN ON THEM SINCE 1984 SO MAYBE THEY ARE CLOSED NOW. IF SO THEY USED TO BE A LOT OF FUN.
