I was wondering if someone could tell which campground to stay in at Myrtle Beach. Would be thinking of next year in March. Just looking ahead a little.
thanks

Depends on what you want, but we have been going there to camp for quite a few years and for us, the Myrtle Beach Travl Park was far and away the nicest.

**Pirateland was ok but sites to close and when we were there ANTs were BAD!

**Lakewood is very nice and our second choice

**Myrtle Beach Travl Park is where we like the best

**Apache, well we had a horrible experience, to tight, not friendly, just not good.

Ocean Lakes, We never stayed there but here it's very nice

We have camped at all of the large parks, and Myrtle Beach Travel Park is our favorite.

Just a little north of North Myrtle in Longs, SC is Willow Tree Resort. One of the most beautiful CG we have ever stayed at. Not on the ocean, but it has a nice lake. We don't stay any here else at MB when we camp. Other times we stay at one of our timeshares. Willow Tree has a web site. Check it out.

Last time there, I drove thru Willow Tree. It is a beautiful park with well spaced sites, but just be aware that they are 10 miles from the nearest beach and 25 miles from downtown MB. I'm not saying that's good or bad, but plan accordingly.
I stayed at Ocean Lakes last time and liked it, but I will probably stay at MBTP next time just because it is further north and I am more familiar with that area.

We stayed at MB KOA last August and had a very good experience. Not on the beach, but about three blocks away. Shaded sites. Ask for a pull thru which have gravel patios. Back ins are mostly sand. Have seen good things about MB Travel park.

If you don't mind being inches from your neighbor, than Ocean Lakes, Pirateland, and Lakewood are fine. Lots to do with the kids for the most part and they are on the beach. Willow tree looks wonderful, never been but would visit if the ocean was not my main objective for visiting MB.

We have been to Ocean Lakes in the off season and had a blast. So since you are planning for next March, I would say go for it. I would much rather visit in the off season. Less crowded.

Good luck with your plans.

Pirateland is great in certain areas..... north of Market st and south of Pirateland Trail north have huge sites. Inland is very tight and other beach front sites are tight. We had reservations for MB travel park last labor day. We rode through the park while on vacation and the site they had us booked on would not fit our unit. We wouldn't have even been able to use our awning. We canceled and stayed elsewhere. Ocean lakes and Lakewood are also crowded and the security doesn't do the job that they should be doing. I had friends that stayed there while we were next door at PirateLand. They actually came over and said that it was much nicer at Pirateland. All have many sites and many activities for younger kids. I have 2 teenagers and they have a ball when we go. We have reservations for spring break there. If you don't mind going further down 17 you can go to Huntington Beach SP. It is absolutely beautiful! It is a short walk to the beach. There is a marsh with alligators, miles of biking trails, and Adaleyas Castle. We enjoyed our stay there and have reservations for July 4th.

We stayed at the KOA last December for a night and thought it was very nice. Tall pines make lots of shade, we had a nice pull through site. We then went to Huntington SP and had a very nice several day stay. We even had a campfire - in December!
