Look at it this way, now that it has a dent you won't so worried over it. Besides that, no one was injured were they, or worse yet killed. Objects can be repaired or replaced, lives lost cannot.

If someone did that to my new truck there would be a death!

If someone had parked next to my truck and damaged it, I would have taken the picture of the damage and plate, then called the police for a police report. I then would have taken the truck into the shop and had it repaired on the other guy's/gal's tab. This would probably leave a lasting impression on the bad parking guy/gal as his insurance rates increase.

Police won't do anything about that. Private parking lot. I am fighting damage to my van right now where someone hit it in the company parking lot and left. I have witnesses and video tape of them doing it but the police says it is a private matter. Luckily I have their license number but still fighting it. The only option, call you insurance company and then have them call theirs.

The very few night workers all thought it would be funny to box my rig in.

We did a similar thing to a guy at work, he had to work overtime one night. We all drove the same county cars that we took home and they all used the same key at the time. The upper level of the parking garage was chained off (falling ceiling) so two guys lifted the chain, one drove the car under it.

He was um, "annoyed" when he came out at 4:00 AM....

What state is that in? They don't have a hit and run law?

I just ask because I'm a retired police officer and I loved nailing those people who dodge responsibilities. I would have locked his butt up in a heartbeat.

What burns me is when people pull in so tight to your truck that you can't get the door open to get in. Had to go through my rear slider window that I fortunately didn't close once.

Police definitely WILL do something about it in oregon. even in a private parking lot (even privately owned business employee parking lots, not just shopping centers) police can, and do, issue citations. In fact if someone hits ands damages your car in a parking lot and doesn't leave insurance, driver license, and contact info on the spot they can and do, get cited for leaving the scene of an accident if you call in an report it. In oregon that means an automatic 6 month loss of license and Leaving the scene is a criminal offense on your record, not a moving violation. Lots of incentive to settle on your terms if you offer to drop charges.

When I worked at a printing shop 20 yrs ago our head pressman hated one of our laborers and after a big argument he decided to harass the young man.He put a nice size scoop of printers ink on his windsheild wipers.I was raining out and when we left work the guy didnt make it 2 blocks before he was on the side of the road with a black windshield.

I've been blocked in a million times and will make some space if necessary.A 4x4 turbo diesel with 4.10's and a granny gear will make some wiggle room in 4 low.
