This is my first TT. During the "Cold" months here in Los Angeles, when I leave for work in the morning and the temp is in the low 30's, I notice the furnace is operating. On warmer days (above 35), it is not. Is this normal, some type of anti-freeze function? Also, on the last trip I took, it was in the 50's in the morning and the fan was running when I woke up, but no heat. Is this a defect??? Thanks!!!
Your thermostat will not only have a temperature setting, but should have another switch for "On/Off".
If left in the on position, even with the temperature setting at the far lowest end it could still be commanding the furnace to start.
Toggling the other switch to the "Off" position will completely lockout the furnace no matter what the temperature. This assumes, of course, your trailer is winterized and having the interior drop (potentially below freezing?) won't cause any harm.
If the fan is running and no heat, it either means you are out of propane, or it is at the end of the cycle and just running out the warm air without the burners going. Most likely the out of propane reason.
