I have Coach Net for my road service. It is the best investment I have made since owning a motorhome. I have had to use the service for towing twice. One time the tow was almost 100 miles from a rural location. Coach Net dispatched a tow truck within an hour that was capable to towing my 40' motorhome with ease. The operator not only disconnected the driveshaft, he locked the air brakes in the off postion to prevent them from locking up due to the long tow and possible loss of air pressure during the tow.

Recently, my car slid off the road into a ditch during a snow storm. I called Coach Net and within 30 minutes, a tow truck arrived to pull me out of the ditch and snow bank. Since there was no damage to the vehicle I was able to continue to travel to my destination.

In all cases, I have not had to pay a dime out of pocket to be towed. It is part of the Coach Net service that I will always have as long as I own a motorhome.

Okay, another option is to check and see what tow company's around the area of Fort Wilderness Florida serve that area, if your BIL will not share the tow company's business name with you. Then ask the tow company's what they charge for a tow from Fort Wilderness to the local dealer where your MH was serviced. You should get a pretty good idea of what your BIL paid.

I owned a heavy duty wrecker, & the rate for motorhomes was 150 dollars an hour, 2 hour minimum, & the wrecker cost more than most motorhomes.

Should have had Good Sam's EMS. But you will pay.

Last time Good Sams EMS towed me in OR, it cost me 1500 for damage they did to the RV. The Driver backed into me at a speed high enough to push me backwards almost a foot, in spite of being in Park. Damaging the bumper and splash pan. The company's insurance would not pay. Good Sam would not do anything. We canceled our Good Sam membership.

We have been members of AAA since 1956, and have never had damage from them when towing. If they had RV towing at the time, never would have signed with Good Sam. Recently when AAA began to offer it, we signed with them. Their yearly rates are also cheaper.

Where do we go to get towing insurance? Our insurance, we thought was $2500 in towing, as it turned out was $100.00. Had to have the 37' motorhome towed 11 miles and it was $350. So we are in the market for towing insurance.

Split it. You both used it (you before and him during) so that would be fair.
