Wow! Just pulled in a few hours ago and it seems like this is Orlando North as far as the huge amount of attractions pulling at our wallets. We basically just came here to hike the Smokies, but might be persuaded to spend a few bucks enjoying some of the attractions.
So what's good? What's a ripoff? Any good restaurant recommendations (we like regional foods that might not be available at home)?

Creekside. Nice little park with good Wifi and close to everything. They also take Passport America, so we've got a fine place to stay for only $13/night.

Wow, great price, we are staying at River Plantation in Seiverville. We have been to that area before, I have heard Cades Cove is a must scenic drive. We also plan on going to the Smokey Mountain Knife Works store. Have a great time! Let us know about the good food and attractions, we will be watching this post! Thanks.

Be sure to plan a day in Cades Cove. 11 miles loop road. Start early in the morning. About half way, is a trail head for a 5 mile round trip hike to Abrams Falls. This is one of the best hikes (IMO) in the Smokies. After returning to your car, it's just a short drive to the Mill. Restrooms and a small store here also.

As mentioned already, Cades Cove is a MUST!!!! If you like that, also try Roaring Forks Motor Nature trail just above Gatlinburg. We also like to drive up to Ober Gatlinburg (or take the Aerial Tram) and catch the chairlift to the top for an awesome view. Our favorite places to eat are Cherokee Grill (always a great meal) and The Smoky Mountain Brewery in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. They have brick oven pizzas to die for and micro-brewed beer. My husband's fav is Cherokee Red. The Aquarium in Gatlinburg is a good one. Have fun.

Hey Lawdog, was at River Plantation this weekend myself. Came back home this morning. I'd recommend Dollywood, Cades Cove, a lesiurely stroll thru Gatlinburg (love to eat at Park Grill or The Brass Lantern). There are hundreds of other things just take a ride and you'll find something.

You could search this forum for `pigeon forge' where there are more than 700 responses to similar questions. You can then search the results for things like `restaurants', `attractions', etc.
