My brother-in-law needs to replace the rear bumper on his 2005 Minnie Winnie 31 footer. Is there a place to purchase one besides Winnebago? He thinks he can save a few bucks if he mounts it himself since it's one piece and bolted to the frame. Also, he can probably take it to a body shop to get the matched color. Idea of what one costs and where to purchase?

previously folks have posted a location for a RV wrecking yard/used parts site.
perhaps they will jump in here if a search won't show it.

Back when cars still had chromed steel bumpers, there were shops in every major city that straightened damaged bumpers for the collision repair business; seldom would a damaged steel bumper be replaced by a new part. Any bumper that wasn't actually torn was a candidate for straightening and refinishing.
Even with a much smaller business, some of these shops may still be around, with the needed tools and skills. The straight piece of channel that used to be used as a bumper on the Winnebago should be a simple straightening job. What you are looking for would be called a replating company.
The RV wrecking and used parts business I know about is Colaw RV, in Carthage, Missouri. I've seen others in northern Indiana and southern Michigan. There has to be at least one RV wrecking yard in southern California, they don't haul wrecked motorhomes halfway across the country for salvage.
Also, any decent metal fabricating shop could make a simple channel bumper that works.

Many things can be fixed nowadays, but this bumper -- like many others -- is fiberglass or some other plastic. He was hoping to find some aftermarket for the part, but he may have to turn to Winnebago.

I stand corrected. Tatest is right. My bro-in-law says the bumper is metal with plastic end caps. So metal fabrication shop perhaps is the place to go.

I broke my rear bumper end caps twice, just catching my clothes on it. I found a place winnbagoparts.com. They have or can get any part by giving them your vehicle #. They are less expensive than the dealer. Those end caps are $50 I don't know what the bumper costs. Good luck

unfortunately, i crunched that rear middle bumper strip on our MW as well recently, just before we left for our maiden rv voyage. it was so perfect.......now the fiberglass has a split at the license plate indention. was hoping maybe there was an easy fiberglass filler, but guess not. gulp.......i'll check the website, too. thanks
