bkschwarz,
We have had it in the resale lot on the base for a couple of weeks now. We aren't getting too discouraged yet, we have had several look at it. How much commission does the RV exchange want for selling RV's?

I seem to recall that it was about 3% of final sale. When we did it, they don't charge anything for the first 60 days on the lot, but we had to have Karen's RV inspect it first and that was about $350. We had tried putting it up ourselves at the end of the season the year before and when it didn't sell, we didn't want to hassle with at the start of the next season.

Back to the topic of the OP. I'm sounding off.....I want to camp, ride, fish!!
Yeah....it's getting to me too. Been up here since 97 and I'm never going back. One of my fav's is Sutton. King River and Slipper Lake atop Jonesville Rd. Others... Denali Hyw. Chena area. Steese Hyw. EVERYWHERE! I do beleive it's hard to find a bad camping spot in Alaska. ( I know what your thinking, and I'm not going to say it )
Let's get

JC: Do a search for the rvtraderonline.com. we sold ours in a couple of months over this past winter. It gets coverage all over the states--world i guess. cost was about $150 to run until sold. We used the NADA hard copy to set the price. Most units we've seen and the one we bought sold at the used wholesale trade in price.
You might find someone wanting to fly to Alaska, buy your unit and drive home.
good luck.

I am so glad to meet all you Alaskans. I was beginning to feel a little lonely. Everyone in the south is talking about their first trip, prepping their campers, and such . . . and it was making me miserable. Glad to hear I have company

Well, we brought ours home yesterday to start the spring cleaning. Didn't realize how much I missed it until getting in there again Washed all the bedding and we are wiping it down today. Now...the hard part is reorganizing. We got our Class A a month into the season last year, so this will be our first full season. From experience of our last one, it usually takes me a good couple years before I know where I want everything LOL!
Off to Seward in a few short weeks to watch the gray whales (hopefully).

We're fairly new Alaska residents and looking forward to exploring this great state. When the fish start to run we won't be too far from our home here in Soldotna, but are starting to make plans for getting out and about. We want to explore Fairbanks and take a picture at the Arctic Circle, as well as the "bird communities" of Eagle and Chicken! We also want to do a couple of things that will be hard to do with the camper such as watch the finish of the Iditarod in Nome and get out to Kodiak. So much to see and do and so little time!

Aces-n-eights: Fairbanks has a beautiful campground right in the middle of town. It is right on the river and has nice sized spots. The trees and shade helped a lot in the heat, and it was just an all around pleasant experience. Check it out. Welcome to Alaska!
