We are headed down to Branson this June or July and are thinking of Table Rock state park. We camp in a pop up so I am looking for any good sites numbers for us to have. Keep in mind that we do not have a rest room on board so we need something fairly close to the bath house. Can anyone who has camped down there help me out? In looking at the state park web site I am thinking site number 254 but I trust you on here so any info would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM me if you would like to.

Thanks

I would just ask for a lake site near a bathroom when you make your reservation. All of their sites are quite close to restrooms. We were there in June last year and got a lake site without a reservation. it is very nice.

You might want to go here to see where sites are located and to see photos of each site. You'll also get information on hookups, site size, slope, and other information.

Some of the 200 sites are currently closed because of flooding - hope the dameage is not permanent

State Park is nice, but give it a pass. Check out Hawker Point COA -- fantastic lake front large sites.

Dan, Hawker might be a little far from Branson.
I wouldn't worry about the sites with your unit, they're all good and you don't need to worry that much about length. Grab one close to the facilities.

I assume you've seen a picture of the site?

We were just down there last week. There are great spots in campground 1 for pop-ups. Our favorites are the ones by the new bath house on the top loop - furthest away from the full hook-ups. You are close to the trail and the bathrooms / showers. Also - sites 114 / 115 on the bottom loop of cg 1. I'm sure the flooding of Table Rock will be down by the time you're there. We did watch the lake come up awful fast - have been going there for almost 40 years and have never seen them let water out of the dam before last week. Enjoy.

Table Rock St. Park is great. Nice walking/biking trails, across from the Marina. About 6 miles from Branson across the dam.
cschmid@mail.state.mo.us 417-334-4704 better make reservations ($6-17 last year)

COE Campground is just down the road from there & it is also nice. It has water, electricity & dumpstation. $$??

If you want to be on Lake Taneycomo & close to the new Landing--try--Branson Lakeside RV Park (city of Branson) campground@cityofbranson.org 417-334-2915 Restrooms & showers. ($21 last year)

If you like fishing you might try Cooper Creek 800-261-8398 www.coopercreekcampground.com ($20-23 last year)
Hope this helps you. We have been going to Branson since the early 1960s, so if you need more info let me know.

For those of you who have been down there what about swimming? I now see on the web site that there is no swimming beach. I thought originally that since it listed swimming there would be a beach but it says there are places to swim. Has anyone done this and if so where in the park did you go? Once again thanks to all for your input.

There is no beach at the state park but there are some trails to the lake. The trails are covered with poison ivy so be careful! You can rent a boat at the state park and go out on the lake. On weekends the lake gets very crowded so it would be better to do it during the week. Also, if you are planning to go to Branson - go early because the traffic really backs up on the road to Branson.

We enjoyed our visit there but I think I would look into so of the private parks for a return trip. We really enjoyed the lake and would like the beach you mention! (esp if you have small kids)
