So, this year we decide to do our own taxes. I purchase the TurboTax program and try to install it on my Dell home computer. I keep getting a window that says TurboTax has experienced a difficulty and must shut down. I call the 800 help line. The nice voice tells me there may be a wait of up to twenty minutes. Thirty minutes later, a human finally answers. His only thought is the disk is bad, and sends me another. I get the new disk two days later. Try to install it, same problem. Once again I call the 800 number and this time the nice voice says there will be a forty minute wait. Has anyone here experienced this installation problem? I'm doing just what the screen tells me to do. I'm running Windows XP, if that matters.

I was unimpressed with their tech. support and the 40 minute wait. I'm kind of afraid if I purchase this on-line, and again have the same problem, I'll be out anther 26 bucks or so, and no human to talk to.

We have used the on-line version for several years. You do not have to download anything, it keeps your data from the previous year and stores your records on-line. You only pay when you file. This year it cost us $80 as we use the "pro" version as we have rental property. You might try to get your money back on the "boxed" set and try it on line. We have been very pleased with our results every year.

Why not go to an IRS office and take advantage of their walk in help? You have already paid for that, through your taxes. They will assist you in filling out all forms of tax forms.

have never had any problems with Turbo Tax loading. Can you try a different computer? maybe there is something wrong with the CD drive reading the disc?

Try turning your antivirus off before hand; It may be fighting the install.
