I asked this question in my last post but it was further into the Q&A's so I thought I'd post a new post with this question and see if anyone knows the answer. The original owner says she thinks the trailer is 4000 lbs. (DH questions this). Received the title yesterday but it doesn't have the weight listed. We are going to try to take it to a scale this weekend. Thanks in advance. You all have helped us decide on the controller and hitch so at least we're past that thanks to all of you!

We have found some information on the tongue of the trailer. It says 3,000 DB Pull WT and underneath that it says 5000 lbs. Vertical WT. Not sure if that means anything or not. Thanks for all the help!

Look in the upper cabinets in the trailer. Most manufacturers put info stickers there.

Some have a little metal plate outside the TT with all the details on. Some have a second inside the lower cabinet (which shouldnt be removed) but on older TTs they may have been removed. Do a walk-around and see if the outer one is still on.

The one on the outside is gone -- we can see where it was; found one that evidently came out of the cabinets but it is so old you can no longer read the writing on it -- it's filled out in pen rather than typed. We found a plate on the outside but it only says "Coachmen RB 26' TT". The title says the trailer in a 1984 so I went on the NADA website and looked for it there but can't find an '84 w/ the RB 26' beside it. Not sure I'm even looking at that correctly but.....I guess we'll know the weight when we weigh it. Thanks!

We have a Rockwood 2304 and it lists at 3550 pounds dry weight I would guess that your Coachmen would be in the 4000 pound range dry weight, but best to weigh it and then you will know for sure.

If it's an '84 it will be on the heavier side. Go to the scale and you'll know for sure! Good luck.

Check your private messages, I sent you a link to my tips document, in the document you will find several ways to determine the weight using common household items.

Typical weight for the size your trailer will be 4,000 to 5,000 lbs for the 1980s. Tongue weight should range from 10% to 15% of the weight of the trailer. measure the tongue, if tongue is say 400 lbs then trailer would be min of 4,000 lbs.
