I used the search function and couldn't find an answer, there was a lot of talk about rubber roof repair but nothin about simply re-caulking the seams, windows, and doors.

I have noticed a few places on my Aspen that the caulk is peeling away or that a crack has formed between the storage compartment opening and the fiberglass.

What is the best cualk to use to fix these and do I have to scrap the old caulk off before apply the new caulk?

Thanks in advance.

consider using eternabond for repair. it is permanent and easy to apply.

Use a plastic scraper to remove the old caulk, not a metal scraper, and then reapply new caulk. I usually go the the RV center and get the stuff designed for it. There are some regular caulks that will work, but for a couple extra bucks you may as well get the best stuff.

On the roof, you need to ONLY use the Dicor lap seal. Anything with a petroleum base is a NO NO! ON the siding at the window and door openings you can use the silicone products. Personally I would use the Dicor on everything and don't worry about it.

I bought a tube of the Dicor at CW...just to have on hand in case of trouble. Took a look at the roof this past weekend and all seams well (pun intended) .
