The 545 is actually a six-speed, although they don't advertise it as such. Skips a gear in the upshift sequence.

Not quite...It has two different 2nd gears depending on if you're upshifting thru the gears, or downshifting when passing or climbing a hill...Still only 5 gears...

You just tried to contradict me by confirming what I said.

Let's count them together.
First- 1
Second- 2
Second prime 3 (yes this is used on downshifts, not on upshifts)
Third- 4
Fourth- 5
Fifth- 6

Splitting hairs, I admit...
It doesn't "have" 6 speeds, it just creates 2 different 2nd gears as programmed.

For instance...My Ford ranger was a 5 speed, but it had no more gear sets then the 4 speed it replaced, but because the trans is now electronically controlled, the PCM was re-programmed to run OD on top of the 2nd gear gear set to create a "3rd" gear, and would then shift to the normal 3rd gear, but this would now be 4th gear and of course OD was still the top gear, but was now "5th"...
