I have had AT&T, cingular and my brother Sprint he is an over road trucker. He is one talked me into both phone and air card from Verizon. So far it has worked the best for me but I have not used in in Montana. I do know worked most every place else except north central Nebraska. Just don't have the cell towers for anybody!!!

I carry unlock iPhone and my main carrier is AT&T. Since it is unlock I carry a T-mobile sim card which is pay as you go. If I am in an area where I don't get AT&T signal I swap the sim card and most of the time I get T-mobile signal

just a note, Verizon is turning down the old analog network per FCC, so if you are in need of a signal in the middle of nowhere with a tri-mode phone, it may no longer work.

I've used U.S. Cellular throughout western Montana with no problems. They have an agreement to share resources with Verizon. So when people tell you Verizon is great in Montana, I'd agree. Only reason I didn't go with them is they didn't offer service in central Oregon at the time. They do now and I'm considering making the switch.

We've had ATT for about 10 years, pretty good. We live in Texas & travel to Florida, Arizona, California. Some RV parks are on edge of cell reception and some remote places along the interstate have poor reception. Bought one of those cell phone antennas and amplifiers that truckers use. Now we have good reception most everywhere.

I use AT&T, and I travel all over the country for the last 18 years and I would pick AT&T or Verizon...I was in Kodiak Island, Alaska and had service from AT&T

If you're gonna be in the boonies in Wy & Mt a good bit and really need service, I'd go with satellite for phone and internet. It's more expensive and harder to set up the dish for the net but it works darn near anywhere.
That being said, my SS (Sweet Sister) lived in Wy and Mt for a few years and had Verison and it worked pretty well. There were still places that have no service if you move away from the beaten path but that's everywhere.

We've had Nextel for more than a year. NO coverage nationally except in large cities. When sprint bought them out, and had a larger coverage area I expected to be simply transferred to sprint as an existing customer, BUT NO--they demand another 2 year commitment, etc. Therefore, I will NOT go to sprint when they treat good current customers that way. :-(
So, I too will be looking for a new carrier that treats its customers properly.Any suggestions?
