Wow!!!$58 I have driven by this CG for years and thought how luckey it would be to be camped on the river with fhu's. At this price, I think I will just keep on driving to Cades Cove and dry camp for the week.

Camped there a few years ago. I'm not sure but I think that I heard that ownership has changed since we were there. There are about three more campgrounds close to Tremont so check them out.

Sorry, but I think $58 a night is too much for that campground.

We have stayed at Tremont. Sorry, I don't remember what we paid. However for FHU right on the river, I think the price will be no more than any of the other cgs in Townsend. I have some pics of Tremont in my photos. I think you would enjoy the riverfront campsites. Also, very close to the park.

I camped there one year ago last fall and loved it.Personally I did not like the riverfront site because they were so close to the main road and it was a lot of traffic noise but they do have some riverfront in another section they had added on that wasn't that bad.Their sites have a little more room than some of the other campgrounds.Last year I camped at Big Meadow and it was also good.

We haven't stayed in Townsend, but have driven through the KOA in Townsend (formerly Little River Village Campground) and it looks very nice. There aren't too many sites actually on the river but the ones that are, are away from the road. Bathrooms are supposed to be nice also. My wife tried to take a look at them but you have to know the key code.

We stayed at Tremont a few years ago, the cost does not
justify in my opinion, time you add taxes and whatever
it's not for us, also we had river site, it was Oct.
traffic noise was really bad. There are several campgrounds
to choose from in this area. We have reservations at
Elkmont and Cades Cove this year.

We attempted to get at spot at KOA in Townsend during "4th of July" week - they wanted $74.00 per night. I told them to keep it. Great campground....can't argue with that...but worth that much???

We love Townsend and have been camping at the KOA, formally known as Little River Village. They do have riverfront sites with a small deck overlooking the river. Folks there are very nice and helpful and bathhouses are extremely clean. We love being out and away from the crowd of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and most of what we like to do is in the park not in town.

Don't remember the cost but I think you will find they are competitively priced.
