I am considering getting a HHR as replacement tow car. I would like to hear any reports of good or bad in using the HHR. I have been spoiled with my Suzuki with very little to do to make it towable.

Thanks,
Jim

I have an 06 which I have towed over 12,000 miles. In my opinion it is a perfect towed vehicle. Light weight, sylish, comfortable and good fuel economy. No special preparation or precautions for auto or manual trans. Just turn key 1 click, put trans in neutral, pull 1 fuse and go. Fuse is not mandatory if you install a battery charge line or only tow for short periods.

My HHR tows great. As cars go, it is a bit quirky (as in odd). Dumb user control design that requires too much looking down to find the right switch. Can't see which HVAC function is selected. Not particularly zippy considering the engine size and weight. We like the upright seating and room, but the seats could be more comfortable. But it drives quiet and smooth, and the quality is not bad considering it is a GM. My one dealer warranty service experience was outstanding. Looks like GM may be figuring out what business they are in yet. I'm used to the quirks and happy overall. I put in a fuse cut-out switch--makes tow set-up a breeze.

We have a 2007 that we tow. I love the ease of hooking up and going. I can have it hooked up & ready to go while DH is at work. All he has to do is get in the motor home & drive.

DH says it tows like a dream, "like it's not even there".

I have a 2007 HHR I love it easy to drive and good on gas. The only time you have to pull the fuse is if you are towing for more than 6 hours. I have towed it for over 4700 miles no problem.

I'm very pleased with my HHR in all ways, well, would like better mileage. Install a switch (easy job) to eliminate the hassle of pulling the fuse and you are good to go.

We looked at an HHR. Thought it was piece of junk . Bought Malibu for about same money. Take a look at Malibu, much better ride and quality IMHO.

Bought an '08 HHR to replace a Saturn L200. Great car and easy to tow. Also has lots of cargo room for chairs and such while on the road.

27,000 Miles and other than warped rotors, a great tow car.
