Just towed my TT from Tulsa to Tucumcari, NM. We are overnighting here on our way to the Grand Canyon.
This is my first time towing in warm temperatures (70s) since buying the D/A GMC. Tranny temps. got up to 190 in very easy rolling hills.
What have you all found to be normal operating temps WHILST towing? Just curious, and wonder at what temp. I should be concerned. FYI, was in Tow/haul at all times in "D".
Unless the temps are consistently above 220-degrees (F) I wouldn't worry.
On my 03 Allison the temps while towing (or not) were generally about 100-degrees above ambient.
On my 08 they run slightly cooler.
I pull about 13,000# always in D and TH.

In 70 deg temps the Allison barely gets to 150 deg towing, I m
tow about 16000 lbs. At 90 deg temp the Allison runs at about 175
180 deg consistently. The only time its ever gotten really hot
205 210 deg was idling in traffic for over an hour waiting to get
over the G W bridge going home to Long Island. But soon as you
start moving it goes right down. The G W thing is a regular
occurance. The TAP isn t awhole lot better either.
