Does your TV run off of 12v? Dealer told me that I need to make sure the TV is ready ofr 12v. Why can't we just plug it into the reg plug like we would an alarm clock? How do we get a TV ready for 12v?

So the dealer called and said they did the PDI. There is some good and good news. The good news was we now have the 5.1 surround sound. A free $700 value. Not that we wanted this but hey for free I guess we will take it. The other good news is it is a 2009!!! not 2008.

We picked up our check for the trailer. Has anyone heard of the CU using a used value for a new trailer? They said that NADA had a value of $15700 for our brand new flagstaff 27bhss. So we are fianncing more than they say it is worth. WHAT? Can you find a brand new flagstaff 27bhss for $15700? I don;t think so. We paid $300 more than Tom Raper price. And we all know they are dirt cheap. So we had to pay an additional $275 for gap coverage. I think this was a good idea but to say my trailer was only worht $15700 kind of burns us up!!!!

Thanks for reading.

Our TV is 110V. The bedroom TV "shelf" has a 12V plug in case we wanted to use a small 12V TV when not hooked to electric hookups. Perhaps the dealer is meaning the TT is setup to use a 12V TV if you happen to have one? For the surround sound, I'd bet it is 110V only.

I thought customer did the PDI with dealer to be sure everything is to YOUR satisfaction??? At least that's what I've heard it called.

Is this a new "prior year" model? Could be why CU had to go by used price???

Your Concertone (if you have that option in your trailer) is a 12 volt system and operates entirely on 12 volt power for TV, Stereo, DVD player, weather radio and 5.1 Surround sound. Most RVs are equipped with 120 volt televisions just like the one in your home and would need an inverter to be made to work from 12 volt power. They work just fine when hooked up to 120 volt AC power though. With the Concertone system you don't have to plug them in at all because everything is wired directly into your 12 volt power system in the trailer.

NADA bases it's value on MSRP reported by the manufacturer. I expect your bank has looked up the wrong model number or possibly FR has not reported any MRSP for the unit your purchasing. Since they're loaning you the money I will not make any difference though so I wouldn't get upset about it. The MSRP from RV Direct for the Rockwood version of the trialer is a tad over $21.000.00 plus optional equipment and they SELL them for around $15,000. plus options.

Congratulations on the new trailer / Skip

Thanks! We also will do an inspection with the dealer but the dealer does his first tomake sure it is all ready to go.
I guess I am unsure now about the TV set up he made it sound like it was only 12v ready. Does this not make sense???
This is not a prior year. It is a 2008 or well it is a 2009. The CU said it had to go by NADA standards??? hmmm

So I assume it is concertone so that is why it is 12v? Can we still use a normal TV then? Or do we need to make sure there is a 12v and 110v outlet? Are all the outlets in the Trailer 110? or 12v? both? Sorry I am a bit confused now.
Thanks

First things first. You will find many standard outlets throughout the trailer and they are all 110v. They will operate when the trailer is plugged in with the "shore" power cord which has a standard 30A 110v plug (not to be confused with a 220V dryer plug!) You can also plug this cord into a generator (most often with an adapter) for the same results. With this connected you will also be charging the 12v battery(ies?) through your converter/charger.

There is normally one 12V outlet (looks like a lighter plug) located on the plate where the antenna connects for your Television. This is a pretty low current outlet, but many people plug a small inverter there to run a television when 110V is not available. There is not enough 12V current there to run a large enough inverter to power a television and a 110v surround sound system.

Personally, I installed a 1500W inverter near my batteries and simply plug that same "shore" power cable into it when I so when I do not have 110V available this will provide 110v power at all my outlets. I have a 110V television so I can use it whenever I wish. I also have a Direct TV receiver there as well so I can use my satellite dish. We dry camp often (without 110v hookups) so this works well for us.

leidig32 still seems a great deal,,,out here in CT dealers don't budge in price so we bought our TT from Raper and traveled out there to pick her up,if we could buy her for even a 1000 or 2 higher with the option we got I would have bought closer to home,,,good luck with your purchase

Used RV's are like the housing market now. Values are dropping at a hugh rate. Your trailer will be a "used" trailer before the CU check clears. I am trying to sell my "new", ten weeks old trailer and am presently asking 20% below purchase price (which was 30% off MSRP). I am getting almost no response with several methods of advertising. Several have called and offered less than half of the asking price. It is a rude awakening if you bought and then need to sell. The CU knows this and is protecting themselves.
