Just received a call from Brake Buddy. Said he was just calling to see how the select unit was performing and to see if I had any problems with it. Since this version has only been out for about 1 month, they are calling to make sure there hasn't been any problem I may have run into.
I mentioned the problems I had read about with the vantage here on the forum. He was aware of the forum and said because of the problems with the communications on the vantage, a lot of work and research had gone into this new unit and he felt that the problem has been solved.
As I told him, I have only been able to test it one time so far. It worked great when I did test it. Was planning a long trip right now but trip had to be put on hold due to health problems in family.
This proves to me that Brake Buddy still has the great customer service that they all ways have had. It's a shame there was so much trouble the the vantage unit. I think they have lost some loyal customers over that issue. But it looks like they may have corrected that problem now with this new version. We can only hope that the customer service does stay the same. There are so few companies out there that do still put customer service on the top of the list, that we can't afford to lose one that does. Because, before the issue with the Vantage, I had never read any negative reports on Brake Buddy.
If it aint broke don't break it If you do HIDE IT!

I hope you have good luck with yours. It seems that BB works well in 30' coaches and smaller.
In a rig like my bus conversion, the transmitter is not strong enough for a 40'+ coach.
BB has taken my unit back and I am awaiting my refund..

Do you have the new vantage select or just the vantage. The new vantage select has remote control over full or proportional settings and on the sensitivity. It does not come with an extra transmitter. It only has the main unit in toed and the receiver you put in the motorhome.
I lot of the post here are getting the two confused. I am not saying you are, just making sure. This new unit has only been out for about 1 month. When I ordered mine, the guy said I was getting the first one out the door from them.

Hello. I just bought a BB Vantage Select yesterday and while at the dealer standing next to the toad the remote seemed to work fine. But on the drive home the red light that shows the toad braking never came on.
Once home, I assumed I must have hit the on/off switch and turned off the remote accidentally as it worked fine when I was sitting in the driver's seat at the MH and when I walked back to my toad car. But now after reading some of the entries here and in a tread in the bus conversion I am worried.
Does anyone know if the remote communication problem was fixed in the Select model or is it still ongoing? My MH is 32 feet long so by the time you add the tow bar distance and the front of the toad I am well over 40-50 feet.
