Most of my built-in storage is excellent, so I just added little things.
(I will extoll the many virtues of bags in a whole other thread, because they deserve it.)

The little storage over the entry has a dowel across it. That became a curtain rod for a couple of sheer curtains to allow for privacy without stopping air flow. 10 bucks.

Drawers under the couch hold file folders nicely. Free.

Under bed storage holds plastic file folder cartons that lift out easily. Under 20 bucks.

Also, plastic over-the-door shoe pockets cut and hung over the edges under the dust ruffle hold scarves, lint, brush, etc. under 10 bucks, years ago.

Shotgun captains chair covers the Dust Buster that lives underneath. Free.
No screws. The carpet keeps it in place.

Folding snap-together CD boxes frm Wallyworld hold CD's, DVD's, software. They fold flat when not in use and each holds hundreds. May get some for other stuff. 5 bucks each.

Check for space beyond end of drawers under table seating. Some have it, some don't. Mine houses the computer networking equipment now. I cut a hole int he corner of the lid to allow wiring out, and added kitchen wire shelves from Wallyworld for 10 bucks.

I have the plastic stacking drawers in the closets, too. Also, shirt and pants long hangers from Container Store and those fold-out clothes hangers you saw on TV. And hanging canvas shoe racks from Publix. The drawer section has in-the-drawer plastic sock and lingerie organizers from Container Store.

Round electric spin dryer now has a tablecloth and a woven serving tray from Wallyworld on top. Dryer one minute, occasional table in the living room the next. Lives under the dining table with a bungee when rolling. Under 15 bucks for the little mods.

Collapsing canvas totes from Walgreens fill and empty as needed.
Not as cool as possibles bags, but they open wider for bigger stuff.
Under 10 bucks.

Folding zippered bag with pockets on collapsing wheels (Walgreens, I think) lives inside the clothes hamper, along with soap and change. Whenever it's full, it's all ready to go. About 10 bucks.

Collapsing plastic cartons organize basement storage, along with a plastic toolbox from Home depot with plastic parts trays built in on top. The short compartments under the slide hold under-the-bed storage boxes nicely. About 5 bucks each most anywhere.

Another collapsing plastic carton on wheels with collapsing handle moves 20# propane tank (or anything else) when needed. Walgreens. Love this! I may get a couple more. About 15 bucks.

Nesting work baskets with wooden handles holds a big silk fern most of the time.
Other times, the larger baskets hold groceries or whatever temporarily. Joann's, I think - under $30.

Any of the dollar stores is a good place to snag little plastic trays or bins you might want.

All good suggestions above. Here is another one. Don't take along a lot of stuff you think you will need and really don't. Pack light. Why take along full dinner service for 10 people? How many hundreds of pounds of tools do you really need. Six cast iron skillets in different sizes are too many... well, you get the picture.

The less you bring, the less you have to organize. Remember, you will probably not be camping on the moon, and I think they actually have a Walmart on the moon now anyway.

I use cut-down cardboard boxes to store stuff that can tip over or fall out of cabinets. They're free - and don't rattle. You can label them. And if they get ratty - throw them out and find another box....LOL!!!

We put a piece of 3" foam inside the cabinet where we store our cups and glasses. If you cut several circles in the foam and put your glasses in there, they won't tip over and fall out the door when you open it.

Don't worry about having every container before your first trip. Anything that will spill, tip, or roll about, will definitely announce its self. As you load just think about where each item will go once it's bounced down the road for a hundred miles or so. Biggest "woohoo" I have put in the RV are the extension bars fitted in the fridge to keep everything from falling out the first time it's opened.

I love Velcro too- I used them for a lot of things even to hold the sliding trays in place. The kind that only have one bar at the bottom that has to be screwed into place (not the kind that have to be attached to the sides of the cabinets). Put velcro on both ends and they hold very well.
I use a lot of smaller boxes or baskets. Those hanging shoe or larger sweater organizers are very handy too. I got most of my things from Ikea or WalMart.

goodluck!

The canvas shoe organizers, plastic boxes, baskets and such I purchased from either TJMaxx or Ross. They have tons of stuff in the clearance section!! The canvas over the door shoe holder was $3!! I need to go to Tuesday Morning and check them out too.

I have several - just click on my mods link in my signature. Also, i've upgraded some of them and will post new pics so check it again later this week.

Those are some great mods, havedream...

I made one of the jean leg bags to hold our hotdog roasting forks.

I also put some of the Command hooks in our shower near the top of the surround to hold washcloths as they dry. No more musty washcloths
in the laundry basket!

We have a spring-mounted shower curtain rod in the shower to hang the damp towels, too.
