We checked in yesterday morning and it is a very nice resort. The sites are nicely landscaped, the roads fulled paved and the bathrooms clean. The kids love the pool and riding their bikes. There are also nice dog walks with baggies and garbage cans. The weather has been PERFECT !! The people here are VERY friendly...we've talked to just about everyone that's walked by the site. Only a few cons...
~ sites aren't very wide (but since the resort is in a city I was expecting that.
~ Bad odors coming from the paper mill in Panama City if the wind blows a certain way (nothing the campground can do about that though)
~ The pool is too warm in my opinion, about 85 degrees. It's like being in a huge bathtub and not that refreshing in the hot afternoon sun.

That looks beautiful. Wish we were in FL right now since GA has been pretty cold for the last 2 days. While you are down there make sure you check out Andrews State Park it is very beautiful and you might even want to take a drive to Destin FL especially if you want to do some shopping. While in Destin take a look at Henderson Beach State Park and Top Sail State Park Resort.

I just showed this to my DW and here is her comment. Delaine says,
We had been spending the winters in warm climate until my Mom had a heart attack in Jan 07. We stayed in TN this past winter and it has been a lonnnnnnnnnnng cold, wet, cloudy fall, winter and now going into spring more of the same. So count your blessings. I would gladly swap places with you to get in that warm pool, walk on the beach and listen to the ocean waves, ride my bike in the sunshine and just have one week of warm weather with sunshine. Anytime you want to come to TN we have a site overlooking 6 miles of the winding TN river........hey guess we are blessed, too.

How do you get to the beach from the resort? Can you walk, bike or do they have a shuttle? It looks like a wonderful place to me!

Looks like a great place. The only problem for us is they don't allow German Shepherds.

It's currently raining here in Michigan...just didn't want you to forget what you left behind. ;-) Enjoy your vacation....i'm jealous, but our turn is next year when we will be heading down to St. Andrews State Park!

It was in the mid 70's today. Probably cool to the residents here but very nice for us Michiganders. We rented a pontoon and went out to Shell Island. We saw St. Andrews state park and it looked really nice. If we get another warmer day we may take the kids over to the beach there. We had a nice time exploring Shell Island. We were glad we brought our jackets on the boat because it was a little chilly while we were on the water.
You could ride your bike to the beach from this campground if you wanted to, but if you had much stuff to carry that wouldn't be practical. No shuttle service that we've seen. I think most people just drive over.
There are also a TON of mosqitoes here. We haven't been able to sit outside after dusk at all. Tonight we wanted to give it a try so we sprayed some OFF yard guard, lit some citronella candles AND sprayed everyone with bug spray and we STILL were all bit up. I have about 10 bites just on my ankles. It gets dark earlier here than back home because of the time change so it feels much later than it is. Around 7:30 it's dark and we have to go in to hide from the bugs !!
Still on the list of things we'd like to do before we leave on Saturday...
1- drive up the coast to Destin for shopping/dinner
2- Pirate Cruise
3- Family Fun Center with go carts, maze and mini golf
4- Zooworld
5- Captain Anderson's for dinner
6- Gulf World Marine Park swim with the dolphins.
We will probably do a couple of these each day and then just hang out the rest of the time at the campground.

Look closely to see the giraffe. We can see him from our site.
